i saw a couple of speedpaint videos in which the artists shaded using gray first before adding on colors using different blend modes so i wanted to try that... T-T forgive me for this fail attempt here is your butchered samus pic and continue waiting a million years before i draw her in her mecha outfit LOL... but yahh, feel free to tell me how to better apply that technique for I definitely want to keep trying that technique out 8D-------

SAMUSSSSSSSSS!! AMG THIS LOOKS AMAZINGGGGGGG!! The colors on this a bit more dull than your usual ones though. (Maybe 'cause it's nighttime here, IDK I'm stupid you dropped me on the head when I was a kid. LOL)
