Colored family portrait, FINALLY. 8D
I think I may be making this part of a three part series--this is the "Past", where the family was still living together~
The next one will be the "Present", which will feature the parents, Yukimitsu (who is currently 17), and Akiharu, Yuriha's son (around 8 years old).
The last and final "Future" will be Gaara and Yukimitsu, possibly with children of their own? And maybe an older, sexy Akiharu. xD
I plan on doing one of Yuriha + Tetsuya (her husband) and a baby Akiharu, but I'm not sure if I'll finalize that. It'll probably just be a quick sketch/color. :3

A few facts about the family:
Koyanagi Shiro （小柳白）, 29-30 (in this image), 42-43 (present)
Shiro was raised in a clan that actually kept kunoichi in higher regard than male shinobi. However, he excelled in his skills and proved himself worthy to the elders of his clan, thus being rather pampered and revered in his teen years. He was once a highly skilled ANBU member, but retired and began teaching at the Academy after the birth of his second daughter, Yukimitsu.
He enjoys taunting his children (though he is a very good father), and also enjoys showing off his physical physique/beauty in a rather absurd fashion (which prompts Ami to squeal and go all fangirly, much to the daughters' dismay).

Koyanagi Ami　（小柳アミ）,25-26 (in this image), 39-40 (present)
Most of Ami's background before her marriage to Shiro is unknown, though it is known that she is not from Konoha. Her original clan is never revealed, though it is known that she no longer has contact with them. She's a very docile woman who cares very deeply for her family--she has a soft spot for children. Ami teaches History of Genjutsu and Kinjutsu classes at the Academy, and often takes on tutors, making her rather well-known among the youngsters of the village.

Koyanagi Yuriha　（小柳百合刃), 10-11 (in this image), 23-24 (present--deceased)
Yuriha is more like her mother than her father--she's very softspoken, polite, and docile in everything she does. As with all the women in the Koyanagi clan, Yuriha attended geisha schooling at a young age and excels in music, dance, and entertainment skills. She meets Tetsuya (last name never given, as customary(?) for Sand ninja) on a mission to Suna, and later marries him & moves to Suna. She has a son named Akiharu, but dies a few years later due to an illness that she had (apparently) always suffered from.

A few random things about the clan/family~
The Koyanagi do not participate in intermarriage as much as other clans, but they do participate in the practice of arranged marriages--the elders make sure to choose wives/husbands for their clansmen/women who resemble the clan's main features (dark hair, light eyes, general beauty).
The reason why Shiro was allowed to marry Ami is unknown, though it's shown that the clan does accept her--she may have had to prove herself to the elders by showcasing her skills, or by having children who could carry on the clan's responsibilities.

Okay so........Yuriha is SUPPOSED to be 10-11 years old here...but I wasn't thinking about then when I drew her. OTL She is one busty 10 year old. XD fffffffffffff whatever, this is manga. Anything is possibly. Amirite? x_X;

Also, Ami had children/got married at a young age, because waaaay back when, girls would be married off to have children as soon as they biologically could.

If only I could put this much effort into my schoolwork, everything would go so smoothly in my life. OTL
