I don't have any drawings of Yuki in one of her geisha get-ups, so I felt like drawing this. :] Her hands look a bit funky, but she's wearing a tight traditional black-ninja uniform (NOT Naruto-style, more like what you see in the history books) underneath. Her bladessss, I forgot to shade them. xD

I know she isn't dressed as a historically-accurate geisha, but this IS Naruto-based, and their uniforms aren't exactly historically correct either XD

I WILL be drawing/painting a historically-accurate piece with Yukimitsu in full-blown geisha make-up/an elaborate kimono. It will end up becoming a summer project, though.

User usually places it to her face (a tradition that hides the mouth/teeth during laughter OR used in dances), and when in range, will flip the fan and shoot out poisoned senbon into the body of the victim. Poison is users choice. May be sedative poison, or deadly poison.
- On active missions, senbon are stored in a pouch or hidden within an arm-warmer piece. User does a few traditional Japanese dance movements and flings the senbon while enemy is either entranced or confused.

1. Background
A. Family History
The Koyanagi family had always been a family-oriented clan but were not special in any way like many other Konohagakure clans. Nearly every member of the family was raised as a shinobi, and lived under the shinobi code. However, Yukimitsu's father, Koyanagi Shiro, broke the family's tradition of arranged marriage when he married Yukimitsu's mother, Ami, a woman that was estranged from her home village and family. Because of this marriage, this small sect of the family lives within the village, where the rest of the clan lives on the outskirts of the village. Although the Koyanagi clan are a 'part' of Konoha, they are not considered Konoha citizens by birth and are seen as affiliates. This is why no one in the family wears the Konoha crest.
Yukimitsu grew up in a fairly normal household with loving parents and an elder sister, Yuriha, who was 15 years her senior. When Yukimitsu was around 8 years old, Yuriha married her lover, Tetsuya, an infamous trouble-maker Jounin from Sunagakure. The couple then soon moved to Suna, where their son Akiharu was born a few years later. Though she and her sister were far apart in age and distance, Yukimitsu and Yuriha were very close.
A few years after the birth of Akiharu, Tetsuya was killed on a suicidal mission. Yuriha, suffering from some sort of ailment (that she had always had) returned to Konoha with her young son to be with her family. Soon after Akiharu turned six years old, Yuriha died peacefully, leaving him to her parents and younger sister to raise. The Koyanagi parents adopted the boy as their own son, and although Yukimitsu is his aunt by blood, he sees her more as an elder sister figure.
Both Shiro and Ami work as teachers at the Academy, and are retired Jounin. Koyanagi Shiro was also once an ANBU member but it's unknown what Ami did before she married Shiro. The couple retired and settled as teachers after the birth of their second child, Yukimitsu.

B. The Clan
The Koyanagi separate their duties by gender.
The females of the clan specialize in techniques of seduction and persuasion, where the males specialize in assassination and covert techniques. They had survived the long era of wars by working together as a clan, which was rather rare. The women of the clan came to be known as the "Black Panthers of Konoha" (木の葉の黒い表, "Konoha no Kuroi Hyou"), for they all possess long black hair, long legs (usually covered in long black stockings to give the illusion of height), and are seductive and sly like the feline species. All members who become ANBU wear the mask of a panther.
All females in the family are required to attend geisha schooling from a young age to learn the art of entertainment, speech, art, and music (1). Although they specialize in seduction and persuasion, the women of the clan are not considered 'whores' because they don't sleep with their targets. They are "seductive" in the sense of the traditional geisha ways. In order to keep cover, every kimono used on these 'seduction' missions are sewn with highly flammable thread that can be set off at any given time by the wearer only. This is to ensure a safe getaway if suddenly attacked, defense, or as a means of destroying what could give away the identity of the wearer.
All Koyanagi clan members are also adept in making fire bombs from scraps of material, as arson played a large part in their missions both as offensive/defensive maneuvers and as a cover.
Since the main clan is not a part of any village (legally), members are often hired by daimyo and other higher officials of The Land of Fire to complete espionage or sabotage missions between these officials (they generally do not involve the ninja nations). Many of Yuki's cousins also work directly for the Daimyo of the Land of Fire.

C. Yukimitsu
Because her parents were teachers at the Academy in Konoha, Yuki was never formally enrolled in any classes. She was tutored by her parents (and thus given the genin certification exam by the Hokage, along with the other children of the teachers) and often sat in on most of their classes. Though this could have hindered her relations with other children, Yukimitsu was actually quite sociable and amiable towards the other students (who were often older than she). She made many friends and trained with many of them, which allowed her to graduate a bit earlier than expected.
At a young age it was discovered that she had a talent for releasing jutsu quicker than most ninja, as she had the odd ability of releasing chakra from weak points in the body (the space between the knuckles, toes, eyelids, ears, etc). Because of this odd ability, she was trained to use knuckle blades, which were placed upon her right hand. She learned to throw senbon and shuriken with her left hand, which did not carry the blades.

D. ANBU Training Program
After the failed Sand/Sound invasion, the village was left in shambles, and had lost many of its Jounin and ANBU members. Because of this, they sent out a sort-of draft that called all chuunin who's clan were connected in some way to the higher-ups or the village's academic/political system. Thus, Yukimitsu and several other children of Academy teachers and those related to them, were given quick and harsh training by special ANBU corps so they could gain the title of Jounin (this training would last a few months), and then if necessary, be put into another program that would train for the real ANBU Black Ops.
After a year of training under the ANBU program within the village, 3-man teams are 'exchanged' with another allied village's ANBU team for one year. For one year, they are under the direct supervision of the Kage of whatever village they are stationed in, and must complete missions assigned to them there, as well as train under certain individuals to learn that village's customs and skills. This helps maintain diplomatic relations among villages, and strengthens individual skills. Under this program, Yukimitsu's team is sent to Suna.

2. Personality & Interactions w/ Others
Yukimitsu is gentle and kind but far from softspoken. If she has an opinion, she will voice it, no matter if she is wrong or right. She's a hopeless romantic but knows that she has to put her duties ahead of her social life, no matter how much she may want it. On her days off, Yukimitsu likes to sit with Saya (who enjoys drawing, though she's terrible at it) and read manuscripts and old scrolls from the library. From a young age, Yukimitsu was trained to hide her emotions more so than the average ninja because of her families' responsibilities and is quite a good actress--however, unlike Sai, she can control how and when she uses these skills. She rarely uses them in normal social situations, unless she's teasing someone.
As a chuunin she was rather harsh towards others (the opposite of her Academy Days), as she wished to become a strong kunoichi like her sister once was, before she settled down into family life. Yukimitsu felt as if she had to take on the role of 'top ninja' within her immediate family. However, after her sister's death (shortly before she became a Jounin), she became much softer towards others, as she realized her own mortality.
As with any shinobi should be, Yukimitsu isn't afraid of death. She accepted it long ago after seeing her sister suffer from Tetsuya's death, and again after seeing Akiharu suffer from his mother's death. Yukimitsu knows that death is inevitable, and though she will try to avoid it all costs, she has accepted it.
She enjoys festivities and parties, though she does not like drinking (she'd underage anyway). Because of her lineage, she is often invited to lavish parties held by the daimyo of the Land of Fire; however, she usually declines unless she's forced to go by her parents.

Yukimitsu gets along with her other team members fairly well, but more so with Saya than Katori. She is often irritated by Katori's some-what aloof attitude (as he likes to do this on purpose on occasion to toy with her) and complains about him to Saya. She considers Saya her bestfriend, though she is also close to Shikamaru and his team, for his and her parents are close friends. Yukimitsu is socially "neutral" as she is friends with as many people as possible, and does not like getting involved in disputes among her friends (i.e. She's close with Ino, but is also friendly with Sakura). Many of the Academy sensei and some Jounin are familiar with her, as she is the daughter of two prominent former ninja/Academy teachers. She does not particularly hate anyone, though she does hold disdain for the Uchiha clan as do most of the canon characters, but also sympathizes with Sasuke, as the events of his clan were pretty much brought upon him.

Although her immediate family lives in Konoha, Yukimitsu generally trains outside of the village with her cousins on the outskirts/countryside. Because of this (and the fact that she graduated early because of her parents), she did not encounter important things first hand, though she knew about them. For example, she never met or even seen Gaara until he became Kazekage, though she had heard of his rampage and his fight with Uchiha Sasuke (however, she had met Temari before Gaara because of her frequent trips to Konoha as an ambassador). Therefore, she's rather unbiased and doesn't really judge others since she hasn't experienced much of the larger canon incidents herself.

3. Love Life
Unlike her late elder sister, Yukimitsu would rather choose her work over her social life. She does not want to settle down with anyone (she doesn't want to be kept down), but would still enjoy companionship (i.e. she would rather have a long-term committed relationship but would not want to be married, if that makes sense). Yukimitsu does not "fall in love" so easily, though she does enjoy commenting on attractive men and dating.
While in the Academy, she befriended Hyuuga Neji, and as they grew older, developed some sort of relationship with him. However, because of his clan's rules and other personal differences, they split a few months before the chuunin exams with rather confused feelings. Although they no longer keep in contact, she still considers him to be her 'first real love', and believes that if things had been different with his family situation and their ninja responsibilities, that she would have been with him much longer, or even for life.

She currently has a complicated relationship with the Kazekage.

4. Appearance
Yukimitsu has always been tall for her age, but appears even taller because of her slender legs. As with custom of her clan, she wears thigh-high black stockings and black shinobi sandals that further accentuate her height. Her navy-black hair is long and thick, and reaches a little past her backside. Her side fringe and side bangs (that are in the style of old Japanese princesses but much longer) are the same as her fathers. She inherited her mother's hazel eyes, and wears red eyeshadow for make-up.
Although she isn't as busty as Tsunade, she has a very feminine figure with nice curves. Her skin is littered with various scars from past missions and simple carelessness. The largest scar she has goes from her right hip bone to her jugular--the details of how she got this are unknown, but she has told others that it was from a training accident when she was training for the jounin exams. She covers this scar when on 'geisha' missions to conceal her identity.
On her days off, Yukimitsu is seen wearing a simply short dress or a jounin uniform without the vest. On regular missions, she wears a maroon and gold outfit that has white sleeves, thigh high stockings, and black shoes. On ANBU missions, she wears the traditional Konoha ANBU uniform and the mask of a Panther. She ties her hair up in a high off-center ponytail, and also ties up her side bangs so they form loops.

However, after her sister's death (shortly before she became a Jounin), she became much softer towards others, as she realized her own mortality.
As with any shinobi should be, Yukimitsu isn't afraid of death. She accepted it long ago after seeing her sister suffer from Tetsuya's death, and again after seeing Akiharu suffer from his mother's death. Yukimitsu knows that death is inevitable, and though she will try to avoid it all costs, she has accepted it.
She enjoys festivities and parties, though she does not like drinking (she'd underage anyway). Because of her lineage, she is often invited to lavish parties held by the daimyo of the Land of Fire; however, she usually declines unless she's forced to go by her parents.

Yukimitsu gets along with her other team members fairly well, but more so with Saya than Katori. She is often irritated by Katori's some-what aloof attitude (as he likes to do this on purpose on occasion to toy with her) and complains about him to Saya. She considers Saya her bestfriend, though she is also close to Shikamaru and his team, for his and her parents are close friends. Yukimitsu is socially "neutral" as she is friends with as many people as possible, and does not like getting involved in disputes among her friends (i.e. She's close with Ino, but is also friendly with Sakura). Many of the Academy sensei and some Jounin are familiar with her, as she is the daughter of two prominent former ninja/Academy teachers. She does not particularly hate anyone, though she does hold disdain for the Uchiha clan as do most of the canon characters, but also sympathizes with Sasuke, as the events of his clan were pretty much brought upon him.

Although her immediate family lives in Konoha, Yukimitsu generally trains outside of the village with her cousins on the outskirts/countryside. Because of this (and the fact that she graduated early because of her parents), she did not encounter important things first hand, though she knew about them. For example, she never met or even seen Gaara until he became Kazekage, though she had heard of his rampage and his fight with Uchiha Sasuke (however, she had met Temari before Gaara because of her frequent trips to Konoha as an ambassador). Therefore, she's rather unbiased and doesn't really judge others since she hasn't experienced much of the larger canon incidents herself.

3. Love Life
Unlike her late elder sister, Yukimitsu would rather choose her work over her social life. She does not want to settle down with anyone (she doesn't want to be kept down), but would still enjoy companionship (i.e. she would rather have a long-term committed relationship but would not want to be married, if that makes sense). Yukimitsu does not "fall in love" so easily, though she does enjoy commenting on attractive men and dating.
While in the Academy, she befriended Hyuuga Neji, and as they grew older, developed some sort of relationship with him. However, because of his clan's rules and other personal differences, they split a few months before the chuunin exams with rather confused feelings. Although they no longer keep in contact, she still considers him to be her 'first real love', and believes that if things had been different with his family situation and their ninja responsibilities, that she would have been with him much longer, or even for life.

She currently has a complicated relationship with the Kazekage.

4. Appearance
Yukimitsu has always been tall for her age, but appears even taller because of her slender legs. As with custom of her clan, she wears thigh-high black stockings and black shinobi sandals that further accentuate her height. Her navy-black hair is long and thick, and reaches a little past her backside. Her side fringe and side bangs (that are in the style of old Japanese princesses but much longer) are the same as her fathers. She inherited her mother's hazel eyes, and wears red eyeshadow for make-up.
Although she isn't as busty as Tsunade, she has a very feminine figure with nice curves. Her skin is littered with various scars from past missions and simple carelessness. The largest scar she has goes from her right hip bone to her jugular--the details of how she got this are unknown, but she has told others that it was from a training accident when she was training for the jounin exams. She covers this scar when on 'geisha' missions to conceal her identity.
On her days off, Yukimitsu is seen wearing a simply short dress or a jounin uniform without the vest. On regular missions, she wears a maroon and gold outfit that has white sleeves, thigh high stockings, and black shoes. On ANBU missions, she wears the traditional Konoha ANBU uniform and the mask of a Panther. She ties her hair up in a high off-center ponytail, and also ties up her side bangs so they form loops.
