My new re-re-re-redesign of Yuki's new outfit. ; o;
Sketched in pen in about 10 minutes, then took another 10 to scan + color in photoshop. x_x;

I can't stop designing her new clothing D: But I really am satisfied with this one. <3 I actually have ZERO inspiration for her outfit for about a month, but I got it from a totally unrelated source--Avatar the Last Airbender! (which I also love as much as Naruto). If you're a fan, hopefully you can see where I got some inspiration from the firebender's clothing

The sketch on the side is just her outfit without the spandex shorts or the thigh-high tights.

Her rust-colored top thing was actually a bit more red, but for some reason it just looked like Tenten's shirt...so I changed it to a rusty color which fit better anyway. :3

1. Background
A. THE CLAN/FAMILY
The Koyanagi had always been a rather family-oriented clan, but were not special in any way except for the fact that nearly every member was a shinobi from birth till death. However, Yukimitsu's immediate family (mother and father; her father is of the original clan by blood) broke this rule by settling down after a non-arranged marriage. Because of this, this small sect of the family has been segregated from the main clan (there is no hostility, however, the others live in a large cluster on the outskirts of the village, where this small family lives within the village). Although the Koyanagi clan in general are a part of Konoha, they are more "affiliates" than members of the village. This is why no one in the family wears the Konoha crest/band.
Yukimitsu grew up in a normal household with loving parents and an elder sister who was 15 years her senior. When Yukimitsu was around eight years old, her sister Yuriha married her lover, a jounin from the Sand, and moved to the Sand Village. Although far apart in years and distance, Yukimitsu had always been close to her elder sister and looked up to her almost as a second mother.
A few years later, Yuriha gave birth to a boy whom she named Akiharu. A few years later, her husband was killed on a practically suicidal mission and Yuriha returned to Konoha for she was suffering from an illness and yearned to be near her family. Around the time Akiharu turned 6 years old, Yuriha died from the condition she had been suffering for most of her life, and entrusted her son to Yukimitsu. The Koyanagi adopted the child as their own son, and although Yukimitsu was technically the boy's aunt, she became his "sister".

The Koyanagi clan separate their duties by gender. The females of the clan specialize in techniques of seduction and persuasion, where the males of the clan specialize in assassinations and covert techniques. They had survived the long era of wars by working together as a clan, which was very unusual during the years of the wars. The women of the clan are known to be called "the Black Panthers of Konoha" (木の葉の黒い表、”Konoha no Kuroi Hyou"); for they all possess long black hair, long legs (usually covered with long black stockings), and are seductive/sly like those in the feline species. This name goes back by many generations, and is used as a codename during battle. It is also made sure that every member (regardless of whether they are female, male, or both...), if made an ANBU member, wears the mask of a Panther.

[The only exception to this is Yukimitsu's mother, who is not from the clan by blood. She has long chesnut-brown hair that is usually half tied-up, and has hazel eyes].

Although they specialize in seduction and persuasion, the women of the Koyanagi clan are not considered "whores" because they don't sleep with whomever they are trying to assassinate. They are "seductive" in the sense of the traditional Geisha, who were educated in the arts of entertainment and speech.

B. YUKIMITSU
Yukimitsu had been brought up as a kunoichi who should put other's lives on an equal level as her own. At a young age it was discovered that she had a talent for releasing jutsu quicker than most ninja, for she subconsciously concentrated her chakra to weaker points on the body (the space between her knuckles, eyelids, space between the toes, ears). Because of this odd ability, she was trained to use knuckle-blades, which almost act as an extension to her own body. Because the blades are better controlled on her right hand, she had to learn how to throw shuriken, senbon needles, and kunai with her left hand.
Other than the jutsu-release technique she possesses, Yukimitsu was never anything special in particular. She got mediocre grades in the academy, but was rewarded for her strive to protect comrades in battle and was seen as a good leader. Her parents were teachers at the academy, and she often did not attend class because she was tutored at home in the physical jutsus. However, this did not have much of an effect on her social life, because she would often sit in on classes with older shinobi while her parents were teaching, and made friends that way.

After the invasion from the Sound/Sand pre-timeskip, she was put into a rigourous training program, that took promising Chuunin who had ties to the village (Yuki's parents were teachers at the Academy) and trained them for ANBU/A-rank missions.

2. Appearance
Yukimitsu wears a black body-tight shirt(similar to Soi Fong's undershirt from Bleach), with a fishnet shirt underneath. This is worn to absorb sweat and light rain. It's made out of a stretchy, durable material similar to Underarmor. Over this shirt, she wears a hoodie-type jacket that has four clasps on the front. There are also two clasps on either side of the hips so the tightness of the jacket around the hips can be adjusted to accomodate weapons if she so chooses to carry them.
She wears spandex-like short-shorts and thigh-high black socks, also made out of a spandex-like material. Yukimitsu wears a long elbow-length glove on her left hand and a glove carrying her knuckle-blades on the right. She also wears the traditional ninja sandals and kunai holder around her left leg.
Like most women in the Koyanagi clan (except Yuki's mother, who is not a Koyanagi by blood), Yukimitsu's hair is very long and black with a navy tint. She usually keeps it down, with half of her bangs tied back with a ribbon that was given to her by her brother-in-law. On occasion, however, she likes to put it up in a high bun or a ponytail (usually on ANBU missions). During missions, she tends to wear her hood over her head to hide the fact that her hair is long. Her eyecolor is hazel, and she is often seen with red eyeshadow around her eyes.

Her initial design (hair and eyemakeup) was heavily inspired by the styles of the geisha and oiran. I incorporated these characteristics into her design to make her "clan duties" seem a little more into the character, and also give a feel of traditional Japanese fashion of the day.

3. Personality
Yukimitsu is rather dense in general, but is also very shy and can get easily flustered when provoked. Although she respects her clan's traditions, she dislikes having to take part in them and openly shows her disgust almost in a comical fashion. However, when she is on a Koyanagi "seduction" mission, she is usually very successful. When in battle, Yukimitsu is very straightforward and strategic with her movements.
