Description Hi there folks!  This is a very satisfying reveal for me.  This is the cover to our as yet unreleased book that's going to start us off in our big "Phase II" push later this year.  Lord of Thunder is the first of five sequels that we're going to release over the next year or so.  We're taking the idea of Son of the Storm (mashing races together) and running even further with it here.  You can see a human, a dwarf, an avarian (birdman), delver (underworld elf) and haudron (half giant) all getting ready to tackle a frost giant.  dleoblack killed it with this cover!  So excited!

that seems a difficult opponent, i think he could kill just by grabbing.

He probably could.  Seems likely to just go ahead and eat one of his opponents too!

that's tough position for the dwarf, the avarian can just fly and stab the giant in the eye, the human can cast spells, the elf has a bow and can shoot him in the eye,the half giant can throw boulders, the dwarf needs to jump and hope that he can hold into anything or fall to his death(unless the avarian is strong enough to give a lift)

I think Keota could handle lifting Corvo! And I think our dwarf would wait as patiently as he could for the giant to round that corner before leaping out.  Maybe Bolt would run interference and try to get the giant to pursue him.  While he's distracted, that's when Corvo makes his move!

well he still needs to use an opportunity in order to strike if he doesnt get a lift, while everyone else can attack right away without risking as much as Corvo, of course even with those drawbacks he can still help alot in the fight, not sure what's the advantages of the dwarven race in this story but in most stories they are very resilient if that's the case here once he grabs the giant he'll be a real trouble.

He's definitely resilient.  He managed to survive a pretty grisly attack in the prior story at the hands of a harpy matron of the storm. After she had him in her clutches, she dropped him in a river and he lost consciousness... before he tumbled down a pretty steep waterfall.

he could make the perfect distraction for a killing blow, for example he could give multiple stabs to the back and while the giant tries to shake him off(his resilience will help him to not fall off so easily) Keota could use his long spear to stab his ear canal.

That sounds like a pretty nasty version of a Q-Tip.

I can totally see Corvo going all Shadow of the Colossus on an angry frost giant.

belive it or not but its possible to kill someone with a pencil with an attack there with the correct angle, there's only a very thin bone protecting the brain there.
by the way is keota a character exclusive to one book only or he's a frequent character?

Right now he's exclusive to Lord of Thunder, but we're going to be bringing him into a much bigger series in the future.  His sister Kyrie is going to headline her own trilogy too, I believe.

Eventually, I'd like to see each of them in our recently funded card game, Quantum Quest, too.  Our second expansion (which is still a ways off, mind you) is going to introduce nagas and avarians as "playable" races.

so he's going to appear in other works then, that's nice!
his sister is going to be the main character in 3 stories? wow, an anthro avian protagonist is a rare sight indeed.

a game? i'll take a look on that later

Yep! I'm going to call her trilogy Feather and Stone, I think.  It's still early in the developmental stages, but I liked working with the avarians in Lord of Thunder so much that I wanted to give them a chance to shine further.  I left their aerie with some cool changes as well, I think, so it'll be fun to revisit it.

quantumquestgame.com/ if you want to check out the game later.  We just finished funding on Kickstarter and it's going to be available on The Game Crafter starting in late May.

If those gets popular enough that will make the avian anthros more popular in the media!
The game looks nice, i prefer a pen and paper rpg over cards but those seems quite interesting!

I would love to do a Pathfinder-esque full system down the road.  Gotta start small first!
