With each loud snapping blow to the heavy bag, Charlie's determination multiplied: WHACK! SNAP! THUD! The bag danced and bounced to her crisp, powerful punches and kicks!

Her relationship with Ken had started off well enough. She enjoyed his attentions and charming ways at first. But after a couple months his manner became more controlling, even to the point of physical abuse. By the time he was called to set up a satellite office across the country by his firm, she was relieved he was leaving her: she was completely ready to be rid of him. But he kept calling and texting, saying things like "Don't think this is OVER, Charlie! I'm never gonna let you go now." He'd always punctuate those statements with a little half-hearted laugh to make her think he might be kidding, but she wasn't falling for it: she KNEW this wouldn't be over until she made HIM afraid of HER.

She knew she probably had about 6 months to prepare, when his temporary assignment was over. So she drastically accelerated her normal workouts at the gym. GONE were the Pilates and cardio classes, replaced now with weight lifting, boxing and self defense instruction. With maybe a week now until he was coming back, she'd become a lean, hard, fast FIGHTING MACHINE with muscles of IRON. Rock-hard abs, capped deltoids big biceps and gorgeous veins everywhere! People in her office and at the gym were astounded at her rapid transformation, though none of them knew why she was suddenly so motivated. Her plan was to wait for him to knock on her door after his return flight. She'd find some excuse to come outside on the lawn where she had the space and freedom to move. As soon as he ESCALATED and started trying to push her around... she was going to KNOCK him the EFF OUT!
