I haven't done a rage comic for a long time so-- time to share something that happened to me a lot before XDPeople who disrespects an entire career that you've been breaking your ass over to get are the worst. What's even WORST than that is when they try to ask you for a favor for something you specialize in, and they pretty much say they're "better than you at doing what you do, but it's just this tiny area that they can't do as well."

Haha yeah and on top of it I'm dyslexic so even going into that profession is difficult for me but i manage. Some think spell check is enough but hey, I'm not studying to be an editor for nothing.

I went to college for Creative Writing. The most common thing I get is, "Why didn't you learn something that's actually useful?" Or "Why didn't you choose something you can actually make a living with..?"
Occasionally I get the snide half smile and someone says, "So, have you gotten published yet? How long ago did you graduate?"

I don't get people who still think that. A lot of careers are hard to pursue, but they're soo worth it. And a lot of the people who written successful stories make BANK. Not only that, a lot of jobs need people who can do creative writing. There's a lot of work for that, it just depends on what you want to focus on.

Not just understanding. They are amazed, like they can't beloved it happened. ::shakes head:: I can't wait until I'm published, but I'm not looking forward to the sudden change of heart, only because I have full confidence in what I'm doing and it'll probably bug me to see who didn't think I'd make it. XD; People should be more supportive in general! DX They'd be supportive if I wanted to be a nurse. Arts and entertainment are just as important - just on a different level.

Being an artist always seems like nothing to other people.
Especially when it comes to artistic artisan crafting ; it's always like "oh so this job still exists ? Well what's the point of making it by hand if a machine can do it ? Who will buy this anyways ?"
Etc. And when it comes to drawing it's like you do nothing heh.

It baffles me more when they feel the need to outwardly express how they feel about it.. like..

I don't think asking people for help is offensive, it's the way that some people "ask" (or.. when it was done to me, it was more like force :/.. I didn't like how that person followed me through the school to make me essentially draw her homework for her. And she would not take no for an answer.)
