that is so sweet ;0; I would have treated you rather than punish you for that if I was your dad, I'd much rather have a generous thoughtful child than someone who wants to hoard moneyΒ

I guess the concept of "money" hadn't reached my brain yet.

I lived in a ghetto neighborhood and I would try to have lemonade stands with my mom. It barely worked but there was this nice old guy who'd walk by and indulge me because he was nice and I was a little kid. The rest walked by stiffly and didn't make eye-contact. My mom flipped them off behind their backs. She might've been overprotective and smothering as all hell, but she did have her cool moments. Hey, at least nobody robbed us.

For some reason the image of little kids setting up a lemonade stand and being snubbed brought a tear to my eye.

Trust me, it brought a lot more tears and confusion to me. Last I checked the neighborhood's gotten a little better ... I wouldn't know for sure, though, because that was California and now I'm in Texas. It's a shock when you remember how a place was when you were eight, and then suddenly BAM! It's 2013, and everything's been flipflopped.

hahahahahahahahaha
oh my god
my elementary school did something similar, but we had to budget for snacks instead of selling things we'd made. Snacks that were most popular were more expensive and I lucked out because my favorite was the cheapest so by the end I was both satisfied every snacktime and fricking rich in comparison with the rest of the kids. The teacher then labled us with jobs based on our smart spending. I was a CEO that lived on little bags of popcorn and the kids that were broke (but got chocolate bars every two or three days) worked at McDonald's.
They were pretty much cool with that though because at seven years old you couldn't want anything more than lots of chicken nuggets.

I had a clean conscience and made a lot of kids happy. That's what mattered.

Never did anything like that a school, the closest thing I can think of is that we need to design a product and 'sell it'. That meant posters and all that jazz.

I always hated these projects. They just taught me that other people are scum.

It felt like a wasted day to me, since I was stuck 'designing' the thing.

That is so damn cute. I never did anything cool like that in school, not that I can remember at least. But I did a lot of stupid things as a kid. I'd rather not embarrass myself XD Miss you Schrooooooo... *hug*

Well, you learned how to manage a nonprofit organization so there's that I guess!
For real though, that was really nice of you to do as a kid, lol.

I just didn't see the point in hoarding "school bucks". They're useless and are just for a limited selection of school supplies, and I didn't need those.
Some kids were REALLY cutthroat about it, developing time schemes and what was placed where on a table. I'm sure they're a lot richer and less stressed out today, but I just could not understand them. I still don't.

Yeah, I think that the lesson would've been more useful had they used real money, but there might be some obscure law against that.
I don't understand those kids either, especially if the school bucks were just used for school supplies that they probably didn't really need. I mean, making money's great and all but when it's fake money? Nah.

Using real money would have been a great idea for the kids like me who just didn't take it seriously, but maybe they were worried about the kids who DID take it seriously? One kid have his dad there coaching him constantly on the best way to make more money. Parents take this shit like it's the end of the world.

Ooh, that's true. At a young age kids don't have a real concept of money, so I can imagine that parents would try and use their kid to earn money for themselves some how. That's kinda crazy that the one dad would be constantly coaching his kid. I guess he was grooming him to be a business major or something.
