i was thinking maybe changing the saturations of the reds or the oranges or add yellows. maybe popping up the blue a bit. make it have more of a beachy look to it.

That's really cute. I've yet to use illustraitor, even though I should. It scares the crap out of me. (Vectors are very intimidating for me...) How difficult is it, really?

it's still kind of weird for me cause you're drawing with shapes and stuff. the pen tool is very useful but may get awhile to understand its functions. don't be afraid...you should try it...
