Description
US Marine F4U-4 Corsair, VMF (Marine Fighter Squadron) 214, "The Black Sheep," Republic of Korea, 1950.
In the fall of 1950 the Black Sheep were part of Marine Air Group (MAG) 12, supporting the Inchon landings and then the recapture of Seoul. They initially flew from the USS Sicily , a "jeep" carrier in the Yellow Sea, and then displaced and provided close air support to the 1st Marine Division and the Army's X Corps from Kimpo Field just north and west of the city.
This is a 3d model of a WWII F4u-1, overpainted to represent the much more powerful F4U-4 of the Korean War.
