Description P-51D returning to its base in England as the sun sets.

Started with a Daz3D render and then used a variety of techniques in PS to add markings, details, fix flaws, and generally to put this together.

I did the below sketch a LONG time ago and it was the concept for this effort.

Love it! Also would like to know about the model. I've found a good Spitfire model but not a P51. Looove those mustangs

Thanks for your note and I'm glad you like how it came out.
I used the Schell P-51 model as the start for this picture.

The link to Schell's model is:

Schell's model is a good start point but it requires a bit of work to make it suitable for a close up render. I completely redrew the nose of the aircraft and a few other small details, erased all the model texture markings, repainted all the markings, panel lines, rivets and a host of other small details using references for the P-51 online.

Thanks again for your note.

I have that model too, but have yet to use it - maybe I'll get around to doing so one day. Hopefully whatever I do will be within sight of being half as good as yours!
