Imagery-wise, I was drawing a parallel between heaven and hell (though I made both look intrinsically distasteful considering the lyrics' aversion to religion). The bottom texture is an x-ray of the HIV virus I believe.

very gorgeous. and, coincidentally, tying in quite nicely with a research report i'm currently writing. irony, you foul mistress.
but i enjoy the parallel imagery, where man stands in the middle of opposing images, and his distress upon being in such a situation translates quite nicely. the rain effect unifies the piece, and the simplicity of the cross presents an entirely different question of, why is such a complicated and well-formed being succumbing to a simple, barren shape?

sorry, i'm terrible at critique. the poem is also quite effective, and that is where i end my droning.
