The theme was to draw her OC Auralie in a new outfit....
Since it was an outfit design contest and I got really lazy and tired because of all that detail I decided to keep things simple and just leave it with the flat colors...
Since I'm a big fan of the Japanese lolita sub-culture, I deicided to make lolita dresses for her... Those are actually just two dresses, with two color schemes for each...
The first row shows the two outfits using Auralie's old color scheme, which had blue as it's main color... The second row is my own take on the color schemes, the first one being mint chocolate and the second one a pastel-y lavender-sky blue combo...

I really like the brown and the blue, but with the purple, the shades seem too close, I guess? I don't know how to describe it, I love pastels but it just feels like too much somehow XDDD

Sorry if this is late, but now that I look back at the picture, I agree with you.
I think it would've looked much better if one color (either the blue or the purple) was lighter than the other. That way the contrast would be better.

XD I actually suck at drawing clothing, especially fashionable modern ones... But I'm a big fan of lolita clothing so I totally enjoyed these... ^^

Yeah, Maybe its because modern is more form fitting so you have to draw all the creases but with puffy dresses they are going to look well like puffy dresses?

XD I guess.... But I think it's mostly because I know nothing about modern fashion... I'm such a nerd in real life, and I wear just about whatever's comfortable for me... So no fashion sense also means not being able to design cool clothing XD
