I don't know that I would characterize her as a hero, though she seems inclined to do good and help people if all else is equal. But she is also a mercenary and she will meet aggression with overwhelming physical brutality. In many ways she is a moral blank slate; given the right guidance she would be a hero and work for the greater good, but the wrong influences could turn her into a heartless monster.

Only 3 battles? It seems like the NQHR activists did more harm than good. It seems like Ker'cera was very popular in the arena. And being grown by her promoters she wouldn't know much about life outside of the space station.

Most fighters only lasted two or three fights before losing, which meant death. Ker'cera's escape did have a negative financial impact, but they knew that she would have a short "shelf life" anyway. Better to grow a new fighter and hope that it would be popular, is their view on the matter.
The activists are an occasional thorn in the side of the fight promoters; although their actions usually have a negligible impact on the station's business, rescuing and releasing fighters creates the problem you mentioned: beings that are physically dangerous and emotionally volatile are suddenly thrust into surroundings they are unfamiliar with. It's also very dangerous for the activists, who have lost quite a few people when trying to communicate with creatures whose typical method of 'discussion' is to try and pull your lungs out through your mouth. Few escapees manage to get far before they're tracked down by police or mercenaries, which makes the NQHR's efforts even more useless. Ker'cera was fortunate that her instinctive reaction to people is dependent on how they approach her, and she was able to build business relationships (as a mercenary) and even a couple of friendships. She has learned to control her temper to some degree, but it may only be a matter of time before she finds her own picture on a wanted poster...

Thanks! I want to do a hyper-violent action-type comic story at some point, and a character like this is a good fit for it.

Thanks. I'm slowly learning about color usage and was generally pretty happy with how the shading worked out on this one.
