Description
This is one drawing that I am extremely proud of for some reason. It also gives me a lot of feelings seeing as how I've watched IV's character develop throughout Zexal. Many Zexal-fans may understand what I was trying to say here but I'll try to explain my thoughts anyway though, with some spoilerific content I should think~
The bottom set are IV in childhood, the ones above that are during his duel against Shark's sister prior to getting that scar on his face when he activated the card he was given and realised the damage was really going to hurt her. Above that is the typical IV everyone knows as the bringer of Fanservice, cold and merciless when really it's all a mask he was forced to wear as he desperately attempts to win his father's affections and praise. The top set of eyes are the real IV, confessing the truth of all that happened and asking that Tron should not be hated for the things he has done but rather that they should hate /him/ instead.
The guy's been through a lot and honestly he's one of Zexal's tragic characters, becoming an inhumane monster of sorts just so that he could feel as respected by his father as his other brothers.
In the foreground I drew him looking solem, holding a doll of Tron close to him as a sign of his hidden insecurities.
I kind of rationalised an idea that his "Fanservice" is really his service to his father, hurting all those innocent people for his sake.
All in all, love him or hate him, he's a really tragic character and I tried my best to briefly convey his story here. I don't know how well exactly it worked but I was proud of the outcome.
