I used only one texture that i tweaked with the Color Correction map to make the reflection map, bump map, etc...

if you're not using vray, you might perhaps want to use an SSS material to achieve a similar look.

Thanks for divulging your secrets. It seems that vray has some cambailities! I am trying to replicate the cool effect you achieved using sss but the number of combinations of sss, translucency, scattering, transparency and all is really enormous. I hope to post some minerals in the not too idstant future.

It's really nice looking but each crystal's texture is identical, which kills it a bit. Great work overall.

thanks, the crystals are all instances for now, in the final version they will be more unique.

shaders are amazing! I've recently been working with Indigo render and I think you'd get on with it really well mindrust!
