This is a beautiful shot. I LOVE the light on the eye and just a little of her face. I feel so terrible for shelter animals mainly because 95% of them are kill shelters and dont have really good facilities for their animals.
I volunteered at a shelter once for high school. I never wanted to go back afterward. No matter what they were, kittens, puppies, older animals, if there wasnt room, that was it. I actually had to crate young animals to be 'taken to the back' by the workers. I felt like id committed some great sin.
If I had the land, the time, and the money. I would adopt so many pets. Every one of my cats have been rescues, and ive had tons of them, and ive rescued a few dogs as well (aside from my collies, they were breeder/show dogs).
Good for you. This so deserves a DD.

Yeah, I wouldnt willingly volunteer at a shelter. Yeah, I got so attached to some of them there, including this pair of huskies and their pups from a court case.. they were in that cage for MONTHS, the entire semester I volunteered. And then one day were gone.. I dont know what happened to them, if they were awarded to either of the ppl from the court case, or if they were euthanized. It was so sad because I grew to really like them.

Which is why I would never get a job at the pound. I would get so attached, and it'd be sad to see some of them die.
