Description Huh? HUH? THEN WHAT LAYTON?
Don't get me wrong, I love Professor Layton, but everytime he says something like "a gentleman must always help a lady" it makes me want to punch him! Seriously. I know, I know he's all British and polite and that's a good thing, but sexism isn't the same as politeness, there's a big difference.
/rant

I got the first two rofessor Layton games for Christmas and I loved every moment of them - yes, I've finished them both, however I haven't done all of the puzzles, so I must go back and do them all! Who will make that hamster fit if I don't get all of his toys??? Though, I must admit, every time I go back to Pandora's Box, I just end up watching the ending again. Effing brilliant. Same for Curious Village.

If you haven't played these games yet, please do, you won't regret it. The characters are so wonderful and the designs and settings are so creative...
Of course the puzzles will make you feel like an idiot sometimes and you'll have to resist stabbing your DS screen with the stylus...but apart from that. Great games.

Layton and Luke are owned by Level 5 (I thiiiink..)

A true gentleman is gentle towards men as well. In sharp contrast to that, there is nothing classy about a guy who is desperately trying to get into a woman's pants. Even if he behaves somewhat polite for that purpose, he is still a pathetic sight.

I have never played the game though. It could be that the Sexism is part of the atmosphere

It's just a line he says....not often but often enough to annoy me apparently~

Hehe, I can see how it does. You do not hear the line "One must always help a Sir" from lot of female game characters...

Interesting. Question. Is the game set in present time? I guess I had assumed that it was sometime in the past that it was set in. What with that very stereotypical English gent and everything.

I just started playing the game, so there's a lot of things I'm unsure of. One thing that really confuses me is, I realize that Layton doesn't think it's gentleman-like to take off his hat. But I thought it was bad manners to keep your hat on in certain situations, such as if you're indoors. Perhaps he's hiding a bad haircut?

My father and I talked about the hat too; it seems to be the one exception in his gentlemanly ways.
It's the source of all the jokes on the internet about what could be under his hat because he never takes it off. (My favourite: A pot of tea.)

I would go on, but we kind of find out why he wouldn't want to take it off in the third game, so I'll just leave that as incentive for you to keep playing and play them all!

As for the time setting, I think it is set a bit in the past, or some kind of alternate steam-punk past/present.
That being said, it doesn't make it any less sexist. xox

Heh heh heh, the Professor and his gentlemen comments, they always make me giggle. Curious Village & Pandora's Box were fun! I seriously can't wait for The Last Time Travel, Spectre's Flute and the upcoming Layton game set to be release in Fall 2010, Mask of Miracles. And I can't forget to mention the first movie Eternal Diva.

Ahh, look at me ramble on. Anyway, cute little comic you have here; it certainly got a giggle outta me.

AH! I know! I keep watching Japanese trailers and wanting those games so much. "Watashi wa LUKE des." ZOMG NO WAI!
And I can't wait for the movie! *pine* I love the puzzle trailers for it, and my goodness I hope they dub more British voices for the movie (except Layton) I can't stand the amount of American characters in the game, they just seem totally out of place! They re-dub Luke, why not take care of the rest??

...Sorry, I'm prone to rambling too. I really need someone on hand to talk to about this stuff.

I'm glad you liked my drawing and thank you for favouriting.

No problem.

And I feel indifferent of your rambling; I'm pretty much use to by now because I'm either the one who's always there to listen to other speak or I'm the one rambling.

While I realise I'm not the sole cause of any and all feminist ideas you believe in, can I still feel a little proud of this? XD

Words fail to describe how much I love it.

Yes, you can feel proud, you're the one who planted a feminist seed in me, now it's growing into a treeeeeee!
