Hello. I just came across this and I was a bit curious regarding Wanda's abilities. To anyone all Wanda fans how much Damage is she capable of doing to ones mind (the MCU doesn't show much in regards to that) if she wanted to do something permanent?

Well, it depends how you view it. She’s capable of a lot; what she chooses to do, however, is a totally different story. Wanda can cause people to have vision(ex: see past events, see altered realities of what happens and/or what is to come). Most of the visions that she gave to the Avengers came true in a way, such as the fall of Asgard and Tony watching many of his friends die before his eyes(even if they came back). This caused a lot of emotional stress and damage to the Avengers. Natasha was given flashbacks of her past in the Red Room, which was traumatic for her, and Tony was led to create Ultron because he wanted to insure that his friends didn’t die. The emotional impact that Wanda’s powers can cause is immense. Not only that, but she cashed the Hulk to lose control, which sent him to spiral out of control and wreak havoc on Johannesburg(though this was likely not her intention; Johannesburg was far away, and she couldn’t have known that the Hulj would go there). However, at the time, she was just a teenager who was still fairly new to her powers. It’s interesting to contemplate what she could do to people’s minds without experience. However, in future movies Wanda rarely used her mental manipulation abilities, and focused on a more physical aspect. This is likely because using those powers made her feel evil. She used those powers to manipulate the Avengers, now the only family she’s got left, and it probably felt wrong to inflict that pain on anyone again. (Not to mention she used her mind controlling powers back when her brother was alive; it probably hurts her to think about Pietro, but that’s just my take on it). Wanda’s powers in later movies are much more physical; she uses telekinesis to lift items and crush people within their own armor(*cough* Thanos *cough*). This is a fascinating shift in her abilities. When she was on the side of evil, she focused on her more manipulative and controlling powers. However, after joining the Avengers she focused on using her abilities for good. Keeping bombs contained to prevent explosions from killing people and helping others and herself fly around. As her views and sides shifted, so did the powers that she focused on. But that’s just my analysis, and I look forward to what she can do in later films. I hope this answered your question! ^^

(To clarify: Marvel is a franchise, the Avengers are a team of superheroes within the Marvel Cinematic Universe - not all of the superheroes are Avengers, but many of them have aligned with the Avengers. The Avengers, though the primary part of it, are only a part of the MCU. Hope that clears things up. ^^)
Thank you! If it makes a non-marvel fan happy, then I guess I’m doing my job right. XD Glad you like it <3
