They are commonly called "Daddy long legs" in the UK. Unlike their relative, the fiendish mosquito, the crane fly is harmless. They are sort of slow, clumsy fliers and I find them quite likeable in a way.

This poor misunderstood beauty is a crane fly (family Tipulidae), not a mosquito (note that it doesn't have any mouthparts)! D:>

Well this one is not that tiny, annoying creature, this one is a little bigger with very long legs :> but they look almost alike
