Without giving a spoiler, OMG!! Theee best movie yet, maybe ever of a Cartoon NetWork show!!

I so cry when Spinel sings, drift away. I do, real tears. I hate Pink/Rose for that, it's too terrible.

Also, I was pronouncing it 'Spine-L' but it's 'Spin-L' evidentally.

Well, just like the Steven Universe movie, those years for when you write the UF movie will be worth it!!

I liked how, ONCE AGAIN, the real villain of Steven Universe was none other than Pink Diamond. She just completely abandoned and forgot about Spinel like a toy she got bored with. Scratch that; that is EXACTLY what happened. What an absolute c**t. Spinel did not deserve that at all. She was so loyal to Pink that she stood in the exact same spot for *6000 years* just because she thought that would make her happy. What Spinel says to Pearl in the beginning of the movie, "Oh, but she brought YOU along?" makes more sense in context: how could Pink leave behind someone who was literally made to be her best friend (and presumably one of a kind given the Diamonds' reaction to her), and keep some mass-produced servant around as her closest confidant instead? It just isn't fair at all, and while destroying the Earth may have been a teensy bit overkill, her anger and despair are completely justified. And of course, the consequences of Pink's actions are once again foisted onto Steven through no fault of his own...  

I can imagine while Steven is unsure of how to deal with Spinel as per canon, Mabel would be over-the-moon with Default Spinel since they're practically two peas in a pod, all smiles and wanting to have fun all the time, and would rather they leave her like that rather than restore her old self, whereas Dipper is more fit to handle the real Spinel, since he seems to have a talent for helping/empathizing with girls whose deep-rooted problems can't be easily solved with Steven's usual brand of song-and-dance pep talks (i.e. Lapis, Pacifica). Not to mention, Dipper has surprisingly much in common with Spinel; both of them have been (or will be, post-Stonemason):
1. Left behind by a Gem they cared deeply for,
2. Blaming themselves for being abandoned,
3. Manipulated by someone they thought they could trust,
4. Twisted into a darker version of themselves because of a Diamond's actions,
5. Holding some serious beef with the Diamond who screwed them over (I can't imagine Dipper *not* holding a grudge against Yellow Diamond for Stonemason),
6. Mad at themselves for screwing up their attempts to fix things.

Granted, their experiences aren't identical, and Dipper has had the advantage of having other friends to help him through the hard times, but I'd say he is in a unique position to give Spinel the help she needs most, because whereas Steven and Mabel can offer their *sympathy* for her problems, only Dipper can offer true *empathy* for everything Spinel has been through, which can make all the difference in the world in reaching out to someone. Yeah, I kinda went on a tangent there, but I absolutely LOVE Dipper's character arc and dynamic in Universe Falls.




Also, Steg is officially the best fusion, ever, of all time, for all eternity.

So...wait? Will the scythe turn Dipper back to Stonemason? How does that work? It makes sense for Steven because he still has a gem that needed to grow and get stronger along with him, but Dipper just has some what are essentially cybernetic enhancements.
