Description
Charley's not only taking care of the group's bikes but the mice as well. Kinda like going to a doctor's appointment regularly, only this one does machines. Vinnie's mask needs a bit of a polishing and rust blocking, while Piper's leg and Modo's arm could use a little maintenance or tinkering once in a while. (No worries though, she ain't gonna turn them into MacGyver limbs like they did to Modo's arm in the second series.) The Plutarkian and Martian tech is quite foreign to this humble mechanic, but she quickly figures her way around it. The hardest maintenance though is Throttle's oversensitive eyes that Charley can't even fix. Or more specifically, won't even risk to fix. As great mechanic as she is, she's not letting her pride mangle with something that could turn detrimental. After all, an arm and limb could easily be replaced with another prosthetic, but if she makes even one mistake with Throttle, she'll be leaving her friend completely blind and incapable to lead his team anymore.

One of my friends studies to become a watchmaker, which is a really demanding and strict job, and he said one of the most important lessons he had to learn was that the true watchmaker always knows to decline a task, if he's not sure his skills are enough to prevent an expensive mistake. This was a teaching I myself took very close to my heart when I thought about Charley and Throttle. Maybe she could fix his eyes, freeing him from his dependence of glasses but honestly, that would just make it boring. Nobody likes easy fixes which wipe out all conflicts, character development and all the struggle they had to go through with the new limit they got.

I just got myself a few new markers (calligraphy pens, to be exact) as well as coloring pencils, which I wanted to try out. The great eases were the brown pencils for Piper's hair and fur, as well as Charley's hair. Previously I just had to mishmash different "wrong" browns, reds and gray to get somewhat what I needed. Also I got a lot better shade for the guys' space-pants and Modo's armor. The greatest addition to my pen collection though was a Brown Oeche my friend gifted, which gave just the right tan shade for Throttle's fur. Took me a while to even realize it actually is tan, and not orangey.
The only thing I'm not too satisfied is Charley's shirt. Gonna need something more grey-violet-bluish.
