It makes me feel warm and cozy, like my own childhood books. But at the same time there's something different, part of it reminds me of Where the Wild Things Are illustrations (more feel than look). And so, it is new and unique!

Actually, I think you made Totoro's design better. Totoro's facial expressions were a bit crazed looking when he grinned if you ask me. You really softened it up.
