We had a bit of a snowstorm this weekend, and spent Sunday digging ourselves out. Apparently 26 cm fell, but drifts in our driveway ranged from 15 cm to about 70 cm, all in all a bit surprising since only about 2 cm fell during the entire month of December last year. We're expecting milder temperatures over the next few days, which means all this snow could very well disappear, bringing us a green Christmas after all ...

This make me think of being indoors, sitting by an open fire and looking through the window to the blizzard raging outside and watching the drifts pile up. Very evocative.
