Description Too lazy to add shadow to this abomination. It kind of hit me how many weapons this thing has and it is utterly ridiculous. Freedom Gundam I can understand because he's nuclear powered. But this thing? He has like 8 beam weapons, it's ridiculous.

With the advancement of time comes the advancement of weapons. This is true even in the gundam world. Though I do understand that in order to "sell" the series, the authors did overdo it. In any case u did a great job with this guy.

epicness... oh and the more weapons the better in my opinion! Probably's a pain to charge though...

Sweetness, me loves chibi Abyss~
And yeah, even though the Abyss is battery powered, it can receive some sort of energy beam to recharge it's deuterion (deuterium?) battery, in order to power those 10 Beam weapons of his'~

Absolutely love yer art~

The robots are the only thing I like about Gundam PERIOD.

The story? Meh. Take or leave? I'll leave.

You flatter me too much. There are a ton of other better mecha artists on DA who kick my ass 50 ways to sunday.

Well that is an interesting point, and the Abyss is an aquatic capible model at that!
That's a funny scene windigofer. I can totally see that happening too. And the in-flight re-charge is called a detueron beam system. (Darned if I know what the science of that is either.)
Also there is a 1/1 scale torso and head of the RX-78-2 in the Bandai muesum in Japan, although to get it to work they plug it into the wall outlet.
Then again if by then we have the capibility to modify the human gentic structure when someone is still an embryo, then super efficent batteries and mobile suits don't seem that unrealistic.
Also wind when the SEED MS launch you can see the power cord they plug into with detaching from the suit as they leave the ship. It is accually the suits that have the plug and the ship that has the cord end of the whole operation.
Finally, yes, I am a major tech geek.

Upon having heard of many of the Seed gundams being battery powered (before I had seen the series, mind), I had a very odd and yet funny mental image...

(intro--scene at the local Radio Shack)

Kira: Erm...sir? Do you happen to have a wall adapter rated for 9.6 volts, 200,000 amperes?
RS employee: *spittakes* What the hell?
Kira: I'm needing it for recharging a battery...
RS employee: *still somewhat in shock* What the sam hell do you need battery like that for?
Kira: Erm...this... (points to Strike Gundam in the parking lot)
RS employee: *proceeds to scream like a cheerleader*

Sorry, but that's the whole mental image I get with the entire concept of battery powered mobile suits...my god, what kind of charger do you need for that... *laughs*

No insult meant to Gundam Seed fans, of course.

In the show there is some bullshit about "shooting" the recharge energy at their foreheads. But that only seems to apply to Impulse.

I just don't get the entire concept of battery powered mobile suits *laughs* But that's just me. I tend to think a bit much sometimes, LOL

*still chuckles at the image of one of the (non nuclear) Seed gundams with a giant wall wart or plugged to a recharger...*

But no, you're not the only one whom that bugs (the whole battery powered thing). *has seen a little bit of Seed, not much of it admittedly*

Well the reasoning from the show is Zaft peppered the Earth with a weapon called the N.Jammer (a device that cancels out all nuclear reactions) in retaliation of the Earth Alliance using nukes to destroy the civilian colony of Junius 7. So that explains the battery powered MS. Freedom and Justice were exceptions because they were equiped with a device that cancelled out the N.Jammer so they could be nuclear powered.

So according to the show, they're not battery powered because they want to be. Just Zaft/Plant really hates nukes.

Ah...*nods* Makes sense...in a strange way. I guess I shall have to look at them much like hybrid vehicles...and borrow the Seed DVDs from my one friend... *laughs*

Then again, I'm also still trying to find the rest of Dai Guard...so much anime, so little time *pouts*

(Then again, if one could figure out how to build a battery with that sort of capacity...well, one almost *could* build a mecha now. A Japanese fellow has gotten walking down with a smaller mecha; new metals have been created that are far stronger than titanium (look up stuff on "gum metal" sometime, yay molecular-level metallurgy)...things are getting closer to something that could be controllable/pilotable...there's an Alaskan fellow working on making a working mecha, and there have been Japanese people who've done *full size* models of gundams before (I'll need to find the link, but yes, the particular "sim-Gundam" actually had working hydraulics but wasn't exactly capable of walking). So, if one ever wins the lottery...anyone for a working 1/1 model of one of the Seed gundams, anyone? *laughs*)
