Don't usually post fanart here anymore. But the announcement of the remake of FFVII calls for this celebration.Final Fantasy 7 was the first ever fandom I'd been in, dating 16 or so years back. I'll eagerly await the remake, and hope it'll bring the old fans back.

I guess I was hoping there was an option to either keep her alive or revive her, via some secret side-quest. It could have been like with Alice in Shadow Hearts, where you can still save her by completing a special quest, even though her death IS ultimately cannon.

A "More it changes, more it stays the same" sort of deal. There may very well be a side quest (I really really doubt it as it would completely destroy the themes and tone of 2/3s of the game, but we'll see).

Hmm...I dunno. I think Shadow Hearts 2 still manages to convey that feeling of loss and despair despite it technically being avoidable in the first game. Plus, the fact that Aeris is alive and well in Kingdom Hearts doesn't take away from FF7 itself. They did say they were going to add new things to the remake.
Ah well. As you said, we'll see. My real concern is whether or not they intend to keep the turn-based battle system. If they decide to go with what they had in either CC or Dirge, I won't be happy at all.
