Description 'James, finally! I thought you'd missed the train!' a voice called from the door. At this, Sirius and James stopped laughing and turned around curiously.

A small girl stood at the door of their compartment, sticking her head in slightly and staring at them, her hand still on the outside handle. She had her brand new Hogwarts robes on already, yet the sleeves were rolled up untidily, the silver fastenings tied carelessly. Her hair, shoulder-length chestnut waves, also had a messy air about it, even though it looked soft and shiny. Sirius looked from the stranger to James, who was smiling brightly.

'Miss the first train ride? Really?' he retorted, happily and incredulously as he sprinted up from his seat and rushed to say hello. He then turned back to Sirius.

'This is Amanda Dumbledore, we've been friends since forever,' he introduced, 'Mands, this is Sirius Black.'

'So Dumbledore, eh?' Sirius said, looking mildly surprised, 'Are you the headmaster's graddaughter or something?'

The girl's round, sparkling blue eyes narrowed slightly, and she answered back in a careless manner that suggested she had been prepared for this question many times before.

'Just rather distant relatives,' she said simply, and with a sudden elegance that seemed almost unlikely for a girl who carried her robes the way she did, she plopped down on the seat in front of Sirius', crossing her legs to the side at her ankles.

Hi everyone! I'm back in town for a couple of days. I have a lot of work to do Deviantart-wise (some of which is already half-done) but I can't work on it properly until I am done with my exam. So you'll have to wait a bit for proper updates with proper colouring.

In the mean time, some Mands This is supposed to be her first scene; she comes into James and Sirius' compartment just after Lily and Snape leave, that's why they are still laughing. I tried to follow the canon as much as I could. Hope you like!

hahah thank you for all your comments I'm glad you're liking the fiction! As usual, I really don't have time to continue it properly, but I'll be uploading scenes along with drawings, you can be sure of that!

So if you want to read more, keep track of any new Sirius/Amanda drawings and the fragments of story that come with them

ugh, very far. Amanda's dad is a descendant of Dumbledore's father's brother. Does that make sense?

I hate to sound ignorant, but is this a fanfiction? And, if so, can you link me to it?
Also, very nice job, I really like your characters!

It is a fanfiction, mine actually. Just go to the "fanart100" folder in my gallery here at DA and you'll find it (this bit is not in the fanfiction though; everything is explained in the fanart100 folder)

and thank you!.

She's such a cute 11-year-old! I really like her cheerful expression and the way you drew her in general. Very nice writing, too!

she looks like one ADORABLE 11 year old. she's so cute!

and... I stupidly was going to say "why does amanda has light brown hair? her hair was darker..." and then realized i was getting Amanda confused with you/or her daughter.

*facepalm*

she looks so pretty.

I know! Little cute Amanda just being little and cute haha. I imagine her as always being pretty, but being oblivious to her looks until a certain (older) age.

...
um....
that's kind of giving me a "ginny weasley" deja vu and....
it kind of doesn't seem like a good idea. (even if it's Marauders time and not harry's time)

please tell me, as i hope there is, something the differentiate Amanda from ginny?

Oh of course! Sorry if it came across like a Ginny trait. Young Amanda doesn't mind looking disheveled, thus her messy appearance which is described in the text above. I don't think that was ever the case with Ginny; she just grew into a beautiful woman, but she never seemed to neglect her overall presentation like Amanda does in my mind.

As for other differences...well for one thing, Amanda doesn't play Quidditch (she's a big enthusiast, much like a lot of the other wizards, but doesn't really play well).

Ginny, from what we see in the books, seems to be good at Defense Against the Dark Arts (probably other things, but we don't see much of that). Amanda grows up to be a Healer, which implies very different magical as well as personality traits, I think. She is more patient, grounded, and knows how to act under pressure, even if she at times acts rashly (which she has in common with Sirius).

Both being Gryffindors, however, they are both brave and bold, so you might see a similarity there, but then, James, Sirius, and most of the other House members also share these qualities.

no that's good enough.
it was just "till an older age" pretty that triggered it for me.

the whole all of the sudden being SUPER pretty.

but i guess sirius is the only one noticing?

so then there is not much similarity... i just jumped to conclusions too soon

sorry.

althought i dont' think being good at Defense of the Dark arts mean that one can't be patient, grounded and knows how act under pressure....

I mean Lupin does that and harry describes him as the best dada teacher. Also Neville.

Oh no, I definitely agree about the patience things and other traits. I'm sure there are impatient healers, too It's just qualities she has, and that contribute to her being a good Healer. Ginny waited for Harry seven years, I think she's pretty patient
