Description
I decided to make this hoping to be helpful to some people.I am actually a total amateur, who simply started digital drawing half a year ago. My first submissions to DA I think are pretty crappy.
But in the past six month I have learned a lot from tutorials and step-by-steps. They give me ideas about how other people draw. Plus, it's always good to realize that every finished work started as a messy sketch^^

For highlights I mostly applied light colors with the SAI airbrush tool. Also, I used overlay and luminosity layers.

I use Paint Tool SAI (the lines are much cleaner than with Photoshop or gimp).
In SAI I use a very high resolution (about 400 dpi). I use the pen tool (about 8px size).

I have been considering getting SAI - I only have photoshop elements and it is very annoying and fiddly to use.

Wha- I find it terribly messy...
When sketching I use the eraser and the transform tool a lot, though, because I get confused if I have to many overlapping lines :

You should see my sketches, it's a miracle I can see people in them, they're just a bunch of squiggly lines!
