Akira is never one to half-ass things. She takes care of her responsibilities with passion and giving it her all. When she sets her sights on a goal she is determined to meet it and won't back down without a fight. With relationships, once she builds a bond with someone she is fiercely loyal and will rush to their aid at the drop of a hat. She can keep a clear head for the most part, aiming to maintain some air of dignity given her current position on the student council.
Akira has always had an off putting air about her. Having a stoic, blunt nature from a young age and being relatively tall has her seen as intimidating to some. It certainly doesn't help that she can become a bit hot-headed when worked up, stubborn to a fualt she won't back down from confrontation should it ever present itself. Her passion can sometimes blur into aggressiveness often having to keep her temper in check in an effort to not lose it. This only feeds into her competitive nature however, as she often finds herself making a contest out of anything and everything should the opportunity present itself.
Background
Akira had a relatively normal life with her parents out in the countryside. Her mother, being a retired actress was never quite pleased with the area as she was more familiar with the city but it wasn't enough to pack up the whole family and move again. At one point or another Akira ended up inheriting her mother's ill temper which resulted in her being a rather troublesome child in elementary school, often picking fights with boys and especially with those she caught mistreating any of the girls in her class.
While her parents tried to reprimand her she never saw anything wrong with what she was doing and continued to terrorize any school bullies that came her way. Soon enough, the girls Akira had helped out in the past had decided to stick by her side. What was passed off as a generally harmless clique had somehow evolved into a full on girl gang by the time they were all in middle school. Akira's ferocity and intense personality was certainly to blame for this new development.
They called themselves the Karasu Girls.
They were about as threatening as middle schoolers could be and never got into serious trouble, although they were still quite a nuisance for the small town as word tended to get around quickly.
Akira herself began to get quite bold with her antics. Skipping school to drink (juice), thievery (cheating on the gachapon machines) , vandalism (washable paint 'cause the adults wouldn't sell them spray paint).
It all came to a head when the girls got in a spat with a rival group over some vital territory (the convince store). This was the first time the gang didn't pull any punches, literally. What started out as some punk kids hurling insults at each other had somehow escalated to a full on fight. It caused enough of a commotion that local authorities had to step in and break them up.
While no one was seriously injured and the event wasn't so severe that it ended up in someone's criminal record, it was a perfect excuse for Akria's mother to pack everyone up and move back to Tokyo for a clean slate. They would move in with Akira's grandfather who happened to run a shrine and would serve as a perfect workplace for Akira to keep her occupied.
Akira was not so keen on leaving but the damage was done. She took full responsibility for what had happened which resulted in an expulsion while the members of her gang were left with a lighter sentence. She spent her last night with the her girls, giving each other tearful and heartfelt goodbyes.
The Karasu Girls would make sure to carry on Akira's legacy via very exaggerated rumors about their ex-boss, spreading them far and wide.
Now a third year in high-school, Akira looks back on that time as...a bit of a joke. While her top dog delinquent like aura never quite went a way she more or less got her act together. Ajisai Academy seemed to be one of the few schools that overlooked her rather dodgy academic past and allow her to attend. Focusing on her studies and the sports clubs allowing her to direct her aggression somewhere more productive, and with her dedication she even ended up landing a spot on the student council.
Although she doesn't mind playing along with the rumors her ex-underlings came up with should anyone bring them up.
