+ Determined+ Courageous+ Good-Hearted
- Compulsive- Cocky- Nosy
Fresh into the force, he's got a strong sense of justice and the enthusiasm to get him through the toughest case. He's got his heart in the right place and seeks to help out the citizens of Bluhenburg in anyway he can. His enthusiasm for the job gives him little room for fear. He's always ready to jump head first onto a task without any hesitation no matter how dangerous.
He may be too enthusiastic however, his need to get ahead of cases and successfully solving them gives him a bit of an inflated ego. He believes he's the best of the best when he actually has quite a lot to learn. He only wants to take on the most dangerous jobs to build up his repertoire often heading out without back up or any kind of planning beforehand.
While being nosy does come with the job description he can often let it interfere with his personal life. He has good intentions and wants to help out those close to him, whether they want to or not. He often sticks his nose into their personal lives wanting to be of some help but it can often blow up in his face.

History
Nico's birth seemed to be doomed from the start. His mother's was faced with complication after complication. It was expected that he would die during birth.
Yet by some miracle he was born, a strong, healthy baby boy. His mother didn't even care that he was born half-monster, she was happy to have him at all.
Joy was short lived however, a famine soon struck the land. Food was scarce and their small town's population began to dwindle. His father who had been the sole provider while his mother recovered from childbirth, passed away from a terrible combination of overwork and lack of food.
In order to survive they needed to escape.
His mother gathered whatever strength she could, packed up as much as she and her children could carry and was off.
Relief did not come easy, the famine seemed to inflict much of their homeland and what little money they had was quickly depleting.
His older sister took up work but it was not enough to sustain them.
Nico began to lose strength.
He had reverted to his feral form, it had been days without him changing back and he spent much of that time asleep.
In an act of desperation, his mother took the opportunity and decided it was the only why she could feed him.
She lay down beside him and held him close allowing him to take her life energy.

Much of Nico's childhood is a huge blur. His earliest memories are of him being about ten and arriving in Bluhenburg with his sister and some suitcases. Those suitcases never seemed to get fully unpacked since they were always on the move around town trying to find somewhere to sleep.
This bothered him for much of his life, the other children could easily speak of stories from their early childhood but he always drew up blanks. All he could think back to was arriving at the town, going any farther back felt like walking into wall.
He would regularly ask his sister questions about where they had come from, their parents, anything but she always found a way to dance around the subject or distract him with something else.
I didn't help that she was often gone doing odd jobs to keep bread on the table. He was usually left to his own devices at whatever church or babysitter his sister managed to find to watch over him.
He gave up asking at one point and figured he'd find some kind of way of his own to find out about his past. He considered seeking out some kind of magic to help but for some reason it was strictly forbidden in the household, again his sister would not tell him why.
Her tone was often pleading and desperate when she begged him not to associate with it and therefore kept his distance as to not upset her.
At the age of fourteen he came across a newspaper "ACE DETECTIVE SOLVES UNSOLVABLE CASE"
The story was quite intriguing, a string of murders, virtually no evidence, disappearing witnesses and the the titular detective's brush with death. It was so cool.
Soon enough his time was eaten up by mystery novels and searching the newspapers for the latest crime reports. It didn't take him long to come to a realization. If he could hone his skills like the cool detectives in his stories he would surely find something out about his past. Also the job description seemed pretty neato.
He started pestering the local police, asking dozens of questions on how to become a detective. Somehow he annoyed his way into getting a small job running errands, delivering food and the like.
At 18 his persistence landed him and actual job doing some police work. He trained side by side with some more experienced detectives. After a few years and some successfully solved cases under his belt, he soon enough considered himself an ace detective filled to the rim with confidence.
