In honor and anticipation for the upcomming PSP game, Daxter (it's commin' out today, I think; GameStop haven't called me yet since we placed reservation for a copy, but I am giddy with excitement
). On the demo UMD, in his dream sequences, he imagine himself as Neo from the Matrix fighting, off hundreds of Gol-Smiths (similar to the Dark Sattelite game in Jak 3). I could not help but laugh at this, and I kinda wanted to do some fanart of Dax for a long time -- he's a tough character to draw, but I like this very much.It felt like this took me a long, long time to do this, especially with CorelDRAW (and actually quite quick-like in Photoshop), but if I took the time to record my hours when I worked on this, maybe I would know just how long it does take me to do this. Have been working on this on and off from time to time since I submitted the line drawing version.
Background done using an online tutorial on how to make a Matrix-style effect in Photoshop; blown up, smoothed out with gauzier blur, and all that jazz. Will feature this at the next furry cons (CaliFur, AnthroCon) art shows and make prints of this as soon as I can get help on how to do it on a professional scale with GOOD colors (I don't trust Kinko's anymore

That might be awesome, but I fear the resolution may suffer, depending on the size of your TV. Trial won't kill though... Plus, Daxter wants you to do it because he wants a big screen all for himself!
I for example bear the shame of having yet to buy a Psp that actually belonged to me and whose usage would not cost me moral favors towards my brother, which happily, for me, does not ever charge those but that, in an unfortunately, possibly close moment, could do! And with extra taxes!
I am kidding! Its not exactly like this... I being humoristic. But as soon as he reads this topic, that might come true. But only after he finnished his english classes. Mwahahaha.

The amount of detail and impressiveness of the coloring is simply amazing, and the whole idea is very funny. This is pure gold! And you get bonus points, because I'm a huge Matrix fan!(even though I have to admit that Keanu Reeves' acting is horrid--only two facial expressions!) Maybe Dax would make a better One than Neo, at least he has charisma.

I wanted to do this no matter what, even before I saw your rendition. Daxter was the hardest (and longest) to do, but the bakground was easy, since I did kinda swiped it from my previous Precursor Matrix wallpaper project; have you seen that one? I can send you a note with that link (there's even an online tutorial on how I did it).

Hee, okee. Now lemme just go awe out, and I mean AWE out, crazy on how beautiful Dax's outline is. Not a thick brown out line, but a sift brown one. AND IT ACTUALLY CHANGES COLORS WHEN THE LIGHT HITS IT FROM DIFFERENT ANGLES!!! That just proves someone sure as hell ain't doin her work half ass! And oh god Mah Lady!!! His COAT!! It's just so beautifully colored! TSuch perfect use of shine, it just gives it so much shiney TEXTURE to the piccy ya know? Oh god, thats juzzo beautiful! And though it sounds really weird ta say, it's just something totally lovely that I can admire! <3 There fore, yesh... Neo Daxter's coat CAN be beautiful.
