Things I want to see in AC3:
1. Old North Church (refer to another pic of mine.)
2. Connecticut River.
3. Boston Massacre.
4. Boston Tea Party.
5. Hartford and Providence as hick settlements.
6. Bunker Hill (this, at least, has been confirmed).
7. The Midnight Ride of Paul Revere.
8. Nathan Hale.
9. Charter Oak.
10. Multiple Native American peoples (i.e. more than Mowhawks.)
11. Appalachian Mountains.

And I'm sure there are a lot more that I've forgotten since I keep mentally going over this list, but all others can feel free to add more.

Anyway, on to the piece: My 100th deviation! Squee! At the risk of stating the obvious, I spent a RIDICULOUS amount of time on this; two weeks, I think, going through all the nitty gritty details. I nitpicked this more than MIRROR, and that's saying something.

But it was worth it. I mean... LOOK AT IT. Every time I opened this piece in photoshop to work on it I would just stop and stare at it. Background was taken from a pic in my faves , as I sometimes do, and though I egotistically love my painting, the thing that sells this is that wonderful skyline. Love it. Love it.

Anyway, the breakdown:

Things I love: er... the obvious? The shading, the face (my most realistic face yet!), the change of shading based on the reference of the sun, the color balancing, and... well... the shading.

Things I hate (or, at least improve on): The tomahawk. The metal doesn't look like metal (can anyone give me pointers on that?), the forshortening on the wood doesn't match the forshortening on the arm. And as an aside, the head it too tall. I tend to do that with men in hoods. Ah, well.
