Description ....I'd Kill For You."
-----------------------
Wendy knew it could never last.

He was a superhero. He had a duty to protect the citizens of their small town from the evil forces, and she was holding him back.

No, she was more than holding back.

She was killing him.

Sure, he said he was happy. He thought that the one thing that he ever wanted had come true: someone remembered him, cared that he died.

And she was more than happy to care for him. She realized that after all their adventures together, that she had learned to care for him. In fact, she more than cared for him. When he wasn’t around and she was by herself, idly dreaming of the two of them together, she’d whisper that she was in love.

But how could that be?

She was a murderer.

She caused him pain.

Looking at him, the fractured ribs, the broken knee, the scarred face. He had suffered for her. She had convinced him to stay with her, to live, to fear death, to run away.

But how could he fight when she had him so broken?

It was the only thing he ever wanted.

She was sorry that she had to take it back. She was sorry that she was so selfish. That the town was selfish. That one boy had to carry the fate of the world on his shoulders. That a gift would be such a curse for him.

She was so sorry that she was killing him.
----------------------------------
She killed him.

The gun felt heavy in her hand, but she thought it’d be the least painful way to go. She knew she wouldn’t remember what she did, who he was, or how she felt about him when she was being truthful to herself (the word love was so hard to say).

It was the only way to set him free.

----------------------------
She disapproved.

Kenny could only smirk as little Miss Perfect stood in front of him, hands on her hips, frown on her face, and a pamphlet detailing all the horrible diseases and cancers that he could contract from smoking a joint being shoved into his free hand.

He took a drag, long and hard, blew the smoke into her face, and told her to fuck off.

A hard glint appeared in Wendy’s eyes. She didn’t get what the hell was his problem and why he was being ruder than usual to her. She was trying to save his life, and she even told him so.

He laughed at that. Wholeheartedly, head thrown back, crazily-insane-for-no-reason-that-she-could-fathom laughter. He told her she didn’t give a rat’s ass for his well-being and that he didn‘t either.

When she tried to argue that she did, and how he should, she was stopped when she caught the strange look in his eyes. They looked like they were in pain, like he regretted something.

But before she could respond to those hurt looking eyes, the seemingly forgotten pamphlet in his hand was crumpled up, and he was walking away from her, still smoking the cigarette. The balled up pamphlet landed behind him as he threw it at her head.

He didn’t miss.

"I Love You So Much... I'd Die For You"- Kenny's POV, part two of this vignette TBA.

Another quickie. But I had this story floating around for the longest time, so I decided that I just had to post it while I still had the free time. It's part of my own AU where things happen a little bit differently for the Mysterion story arc (also part of my comic that I never got around to posting, but oh well. here's at least a part of it).

Basically the idea is that Kenny has someone, Wendy, who actually remembers his deaths, and who actually cares about him dying. The catch here is that this is a one-time thing, a fluke. If he dies again, then the memories are wiped away from Wendy and then he goes on being lonely once again. So he does his best to stay alive, but ends up getting injured so badly that it's beginning to affect his job at protecting the town and its people. So Wendy decides, regretfully, that his job is more important than their relationship, and that yadda, yadda, "With great power, comes great responsibility." She kills him so that he can be reborn without his injuries, but does so at the cost of remembering all that they've done together (which had led to the two of them falling in love). It's something that Kenny resents about her, but he knows that it's for the best. It's just something that's very unfair to his already poor and unrewarding life.

I think the tragedy really honors his sense of self-sacrifice. Kinda like how the movie, The Titanic, would not be as moving and tear-jerking if it wasn't for the fact that one death led to the birth of another (Jack's life for Rose's new one). Plus I think the amount of blood one would pour to show that one cares for another is sweet (morbid, but also beautiful in it's own way).

P.S. New attempt at coloring! Woo! Looks very manga-ish to me.

I love that story, and i love the idea with Wendy, and how she would be the only one who remembers! You have a tragically beautiful story here
And i agree, lol the picture does look almost like a manga.
