The strange energy it takes in also allows Astrodactyl to fire high powered plasma beams from his mouth and the two wrist blasters built into his arms, as well as create powerful energy whips and various other weapons, not to mention leave shockwaves in his wake to dissuade pursuers (or giant sea monsters summoned by Erice).
