I'm sorry it's just the flats for now but this has been sitting in my sai for like a week and I can't bring myself to shade it because I want to redraw it but I know I'll run out of time for all my other art and just...

Mischevious – Alain is quite the sly and emotion jabbing prankster. Nothing gets him going more than teasing someone and playing a few tricks with his illusions. The man prefers attacking with a more mental side of toying with people compared to physically causing trouble.

Confident- There’s nothing that won’t wipe that stupidly proud smile off of his face (unless you’re able to find one of his weak spots) and he holds confidence to it. You can see by the way Alain hold’s himself, how he walks, just the air around him. He’s a proud man and isn’t afraid of showing it off.

Moody- Extremely moody when woken up abruptly. Despite having such a fabulous self image of himself, Alain is rather lazy and his mood can snap from cheery and playful to sarcastic and moody in a matter of moments if you push him to do something or wake him from a nap.

Cold - Normally happy to meet new people, Alain keeps on a mask of grace and composure but as soon as you manage to break his little ball of ‘perfection’ he’ll instantly throw you a sour face and brush you off. It’s his only defence to those who manage to make him falter so really, the moment he starts to shoot you glares and bites at his lip you should feel accomplished. He doesn’t hate you, heck he probably finds you one of the most interesting people he knows, the man’s just too afraid to get near you in case you manage to destroy his image completely.

Cruel - The difference between Alain’s colder personality and cruel one is, when he acts cold he finds you a challenge he’s not sure he should take up but as soon as his natural cruel nature kicks in you’ll know he hates you. He’ll enjoy causing you trouble, he’ll laugh at your misfortune and he’ll provoke you in any way possible to make you crack. When you get to this point, advice would be to avoid him at all costs because if he’s just bored enough he might just cause some damage.

† H i s t o r y : Alain was a gifted child, born with lovely looks, unique species and was intellectually great but the boy had a rotten attitude. He struggled to fit into the community with his overly confident and arrogant nature and struggled to keep in contact with people and especially, he struggled to make friends.

Finding an ease in classical themes and tunes, the young Alain moved to holding musical sound close to heart. Fond feelings created most from the particular stringed instrument, the violin.

After earning 40 years of experience on the instrument, The Strix had hit the age of 66. The man earned publicity in how such a young looking man managed to perfect the instrument so well. Of course, looking along the lines of early twenties was always an advantage in this area and the name “Alain Dubois” spread like wildfire among classical music enthusiasts.

One day, while preparing for a performance onstage, the Strix after warming up took a few minutes to adjust to the binding of his wings in hiding while taking a small stroll along the corridors of the performance hall. There he heard the most melodic tune and graceful voice to suit. Instantly he was hooked and allured to the owner of such grand talent. Making his way to the artist of the captivating tone, he found himself in a room with nothing but a grand piano and shockingly breathless looking woman. His heart fluttered.

They instantly clicked, the woman was able to put up with his arrogance and eventually managed to tone it down for him as they both spent so much time together and grew with each other. The bond these two had created was irrespirable and Alain would often drop by when she was to perform somewhere after she’d mentioned his visits helped her perform better.

The both of them played together on multiple occasions but never in front of people, even still, this woman had woven her way into the Strix heart, a Strix that fed on blood, human preferably his favourite but had no urges to devour her. He wanted to hold the other close, call her name in sweet tone as she played that piano and sung all his cares away.

Before he knew it, they’d both ended up in a relationship, even sharing a house together. This woman brought down all his boundaries that he’d put up between people without meaning to. She’d made a much kinder man out of him, even if he was still a little proud.

After 3 years together, with ups and downs, Alain and his partner had managed to get through a lot, main factor him not being human but in the end was accepted anyway. They were together everywhere and held each other so close. Word spread of the entrancing ‘Alain’ had finally met his partner for life and such was true as he proposed and the marriage was to be held in a matter of months.

Finally, the two of them would play together on stage in duet. The event had been organised for awhile but a few days before the wife to be fell ill and was bed ridden so they prolonged the event till she would make a turn for the better.

But she didn’t, Alain lost his love after a few painful months, a couple weeks short of their planned wedding. It was hard, watching her deteriorate and yet she kept the same gentle smile throughout the struggle. He was destroyed, his world fell apart and from that moment, Alain Dubois dropped his career as a professional violinist and in the end it was as if he’d never existed in the area.

Alain was 70 when his fiancé had passed and the Strix mourned for years and years. The expensive grand piano that lay in the empty house meant for two collected nothing but cold memories and dust. But after enough sobbing and remaining by himself, Alain decided a new interest was necessary… Which was what got him into illusionary acts.

From 80 to 126 Alain studied the ability, finding grand amusement and the thought of pulling off mind blowing stunts was all too fitting for his character. He found new love in this talent and perfected it best to his ability. He’d always played card games with his passed lover so the Strix took specialty with a deck of cards.

Hearing about the Cirque des Reves, he found the perfect opportunity to go do what he enjoyed most in the world, performing. So he wandered down by, in hope to regain a place in the spotlight.

TL;DR Version: He got good at violin, he became famous for violin. He fell in love with a piano playing, singing lady and they got engaged. She died before they got married and he was sad for awhile but got over it and now wants to be a part of the circus like any normal person.

-Those… hyperactive people that need to zip lip and remain on their bottoms.

-The obvious, his teeth are sharp… he has to bite into people’s skin to get to the blood.
-If he attempted to fly with the pathetic things attached to his back his face would have a lovely meeting with the ground.
-His nails are relatively strong and naturally black.
-Eyesight is extremely good at night but his sight depletes dramatically in the light. His mask’s eyeholes are lined with proper glasses when he performs otherwise when in a brightly lit area he’ll prop on a spare pair of glasses that he always tends to have on him
-French accent and is easily annoyed when people pronounce his name wrong.
-His personal favourite prop is a deck of cards. He loves the suit spades.
-Has been playing violin for over 100 years
-Will swoon over anyone who can sing / play piano and holds both qualities close to heart.
-He’s pretty well off, would easily be able to throw money in peoples’ faces but isn’t one to buy relationships.
-Is an observer and enjoys watching people move around while he sits, sipping away at a coffee cup but if anyone is to come up for conversation he’ll happily indulge.
-His strength is lacking. And that’s an understatement.
-Bluntly refuses to tell his weight. He’s rather light though…
