Description My really long Huge Crappy Render LOL

It still looks okay would have rather made my own tree last time i get lazy and just download one and it was thrown together pretty quick

Tok about 2.5 hours to make everything but took 1.5 hours to render at A3

Yes I see the grass coming though the tiles

Autodesk maya and Illustrator to design the tiles

T don't think it's the quality of the work that is the appeal here, but rather the most clever & marketable idea of a miniature Japanese rock garden to accentuate a potted plant!

Very nice work too!

YAY glad you caught onto the idea. That mini paving stone design is actually a mould I have made up, using to mould the shapes out of clay or plaster.

I have yet to make the actual stones and little garden but I have all the material to do so when I find time again.

Would have like to put a little more work into the composition and rendering but I wanted to get the idea out of my head before it left me or I lost the drive

Thanks for the commentΒ

Β welcome
Might also be cool to have a few different types as well, like a rock garden with a sandy texture, along with bump/NM & specular with rake ripple patterns.
Β  I hope you find time to revisit this again!

Imagine if someone made a bonsai garden like that. It would be totally awesome. The textures are pretty amazing.

You're welcome.

Still think it will be a totally epic bonsai garden. Remember to put the photo up on DA if you do it, under the title "Epically awesome bonsai garden"Β

A model of a tree, some Maya fur and a little lighting and the right mental ray settings seems to do the trick.

Glad ya like it
