Well thanks for commenting on the artwork.
It depends on which theology you subscribe to how any thing is defined. Beelzebub is also identified in the New Testament as Satan, the "prince of the demons" . Semantics.
The entire picture (as well as the other in this image series) was influenced/based on books by Piers Anthony where Beelzebub is [defined as] Satan, not meant to represent the entire plethora of theology sects out there.

you can see the flames rising and the details... the upside down cross and the pentagram,great. but i never did understand why people depict satan as a ugly thing with horns. he was the light bearer after all and the most beautiful of angels.

hmm.. well.. in this case it's based on a book character.. and one cant say for certain what 'he' looks like.. I think people equate evil with ugly, (though I personally dont think my Beelz looks ugly.. dark and evil maybe, but I think he's pretty handsome lol)
.. and in all honesty the inverted cross and pentagram are just as big a cliche' misnomers as horns.

I'm not sure of the inverted cross...you're making me think.(a dangerous thing to do) I may need to contact the Zechariah Sitchin people I know, and see what they say....not that I would believe them....I was raised in a Methodist family, and I still do not know the method(???)

The Nephilim eh? I hear they were not giants.....but aliens due to return soon...I'm afraid I've torn bible apart...especially the Old Testament. The cross, was the pre-Babylon sign for earth...Christians were'nt around yet....there's so many strange stories about us humans and our past...Great piece though!!!

This really has no bearing on my personal beliefs,the imagery in this is taken from the cliche'. Generalized, people associate the inverted cross/pentagrams with satanism, fire and brimstone with hell and the devil has horns. *shrug* It was all added as 'mainstream' symbolism.

Personally, I think it's better to give the link to the actual piece of stock you used instead of just the stocker's main page. That way we can see all the work that went into making these awesome pics. To me, it's just more impressive to see what the things looked like before you got your paws on 'em.

well.. in this case, a lot of the BG elements thorns and such, were a gift from a friend & not posted online... and the gent who did the model stock has removed it all from DA.. so no direct link.. and well.. a skull is a skull lol. But I'll keep that in mind for the future.

I love the color choice again, and the pose is what really got me, what keeps me staring is the way Beelzebub here is bending down while the stairs lead you up, keeps me stuck staring all over the middle from one detail to the next. Nicely done!
