yeah, the only thing that Gwen is armed with are her retractable claws, her steel-like teeth and her speed.

desert is a speical forces soldier his only weapons he carry's are his assaulte rifle,handgun and a trench combat knife and wears ligth gear with a lot of magizens clips with him so he never runs out ammo
but he never uses alchemy casue he dose not want to become a weapon for the military .
durign the ishval war he was only a cpl but one day his captian got killed by a ishvalan sniper durign a contuer attack after transfering from western hq to central city where he got promoted to captain he firendly when he's not working but he'll sever and protect the civilians since its his job.

Gwen used to be a human being. After the chimera incident that happend to her when she was 7 years old, she doesn't breathe a word about it unless she has to. She doesn't use alchemy because she doesn't want to become a weapon of the military either.
So ever since then, she became an ordinary civilian in central working with her dad in an automail shop.
She very friendly with other people, but she's not afraid to protect people she cares about.

desert was a humna but useing alchemy that rebound he was turend to what he is so he enlisted in the military when he was 13 years old he mostly did was clean rifle but when the ishval war started he send over their aremd with a rifle he was with captain drake which took care of desert like a father to desert but when captain drake got shot by a ishvalan sniper he killed the sniper and was the only suriver during the counter attack.
so after the war desert was transfer to central city and promoted to his captin rank living in central was not bad for him but the first time seeing automail was hearding a soldier getting form a shop run by a father and girl.
(desert enter the war at 13 so he would be 15 years old )

When Gwen learned that King Bradley was a humunculus, she was stoopified and felt kind of dooped at the same time.
