ebony pencils are these. [link] I normally get them at hobby lobby. They are extemely dark graphite, but not soft like b pencils... the are just dark and hard lead. I love them for dark areas and sharp hairs and eyelashes.

the work on the eyes and the ring turned out very nice. The darks are very dark. Any digital editing from the scanning?

a little bit.. only to make up for the reflectiveness of the graphite.. i used ebony pencils... they are very dark and hard leaded, rather than the super soft b pencils.

holy balls, this is AMAZING. your attention to small details like the skin creases in your wrist and the sine of the ring and the texture of the lips...it's just...wow. i can't think of words.

Absolutely breathtaking. The dark shadows are brilliantly striking, and create fantastic impact.
The first thing I notice about this drawing is the incredible clarity and precise lines. Just a few examples such as the iris, the ring and the hair are beautiful - and they're very difficult to do.
Out of those examples, the details I really love are the iris and the ring - honestly, they're **amazingly** done, and so effective.
Perhaps the one tiny little thing I could suggest for this drawing would be the hand seems just a bit too perfect; maybe introduce a few faint lines where the joints crease.
