Description This is actually a couple of years old...one of the last photomanipulations I've done since I started drawing. I really like this one and how it turned out though so I thought I'd share it with you.

Actually, this is a combination of Poser work and imagery. The horse body was created and rendered entirely in Poser, then the image was created in PSP.

I've seen a lot of fun photomanip transformations lately and I've been kicking around the notion of doing that sort of stuff again. Maybe...

That doesn't even look like your art work. I saw this and looked at your other drawings. Did you really do that?

Beautifully done. I love how everything flows so smoothly, and the markings extending up into the torso is very original.

THis so totally rocks. The colors and patterns remind me of Hershey's Kiss Huggs. No, I'm not a chocolate nut, but I do have an artist's eye for this stuff. Far out. Faving.

I'm sorry, I somehow missed your comment before. Yes, she's female....well, at least mostly. She could be herm I suppose!

And yes, I would dearly love to be a centaur like her. It would be terribly awkward in a mostly human world but if someone gave me a I would do it in a heartbeat!

Good job matching the colors. I'll bet poser makes matching up human torsos and equine bodies much easier.

Well now, that is a most interesting type of idea youse is expressing in my presence. I will take it under advisements of my fellow watchers and see if we can come to a conclusion which will be equitable for youse and mes to whit, centaur type wise. You know wat I mean?

*ok, Twist, twist, twist,....uhm is this an arm?*

Thanks 'zumy! Personally I liked the colors and I'm really happy with the way her hair turned out. It wasn't quite what I wanted -- I was after more of a mane-like effect, but the result I think was better than what I had in my head orginally.

Agreed. This is one of the most photo-realistic centaurs I've ever seen. It looks so real.

MissCirce In reply to shekeira [2007-04-02 00:51:43 +0000 UTC]

Thanks, shekeira! This was after a lot of less-than-photo-realistic attempts previously . This again was one of the last ones I did, so it's probably about the peak of my work at the time. All of that work was done in PSP. Now that I have Photoshop I'm going to have to relearn some things and try again!

Thanks, Dayantis! I love the results you can get with photomanipulation, and mixing it with rendering is a fun (and a good way to avoid flipping through photo after photo, trying to get just the right pose and lighting...).

Kishyka [2007-04-01 06:13:06 +0000 UTC]

This is so natural and realistic the way the two forms flow together. It seems like you could just step into a field and capture a shot of this beautiful creature. Well done!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MissCirce In reply to Kishyka [2007-04-02 00:47:59 +0000 UTC]

Thank you so much! Getting the "flow" to happen was a lot of work, as I recall. Using the same colors on top and bottom was really the key. No matter how well you do a transition from human skin to fur, it always looks a bit unnatural. That's why I went with fur on her human torso as well, and played with the colors in her hair too.
