Description
You and the boys were on a hunt and the only link you seemed to find was that everyone was drowning, which was baffling. You thought nothing of this when you decided to take a shower.

The water was lovely and warm and you closed your eyes to wash your hair but you opened them when the drain started to bubble up, the water stopped flowing down the drain.

You quickly turned to water off, but that didn’t seem to matter. The water rose fast and defied all laws of physics. Naturally the water should just run out.

You tried to open the door and when it wouldn’t budge you screamed for Sam, attempting to break the glass.

Sam burst through the door and his eyes widened at the water trying to drown you. It had risen to your chin now and you were panicking. Sam grabbed his gun and shot the glass, not before telling you to turn around.

The glass smashed, cutting your back and Sam grabbed you out, wrapping you in a towel. Sam sank to the floor, with you in his lap.

The two of you were breathing heavy and you clung to Sam as he held you tight, feeling safe in his arms. The steam on the mirror started to spell out something.

You gasped when it read out your own name.

Sam wrapped the towel tighter around you and helped you to stand, pulling you out of the room. Sam turned his back and called Dean who had gone out for food, while you quickly dressed, heart pounding.

Sam turned to you his beautiful dark eyes staring into yours. You were shaking. He stepped forward and wrapped you in his arms. You clung to his chest like he was a lifeline and he kissed your hair.

‘I almost lost you,’ he whispered and you could feel his heart beating fast. ‘I love you, (y/n).’

You looked at him, shocked. You had loved Sam for so long now, that you had become content with what you had.

‘I love you too, Sam,’ you said. Sam leaned down and pressed his lips to yours. His lips were as soft and sweet as you had always imagined.

At that moment, Dean came through the door.

Sam explained everything that had happened to Dean and even once they started researching, Sam never let you go. You offered to help research, it was after you, but Sam just pulled you into his lap and you curled up.

The boys soon figured out that it was a ghost doing this, travelling through the water, who had drowned in the town. The ghost was buried near the lake she had drowned in.

When you arrived at the lake, Sam and Dean started to dig up the grave. They had almost got there when there was a squeal, sounding like it came from a small child.

You ran towards the noise and saw a little girl thrashing around in the water. Without a thought you dove into the water, heading for the girl.

‘(y/n)!’ Sam yelled. You got the girl and held her up in the water, trying to make your way back to Sam. You had almost reached her when the water seemed to feel like it was rising faster than you could float.

You understood that you were sinking, no matter how hard you kicked upwards. You held the girl above you and felt Sam take her from you.

You were completely submerged in water now, reaching out for Sam’s grasp above you.

He dived into the water and put an arm around you trying to pull you upwards. His attempts were futile and you knew that you were going to die, you just didn’t want Sam to die too.

You gestured at Sam and then upwards. He shook his head and held his hands on your waist.

Bubbles were beginning to float around you and you were losing your last air. Sam held you tight and the two of you held each other, feeling like the last time you would ever hold anybody.

You couldn’t take it any longer and gasped taking in a mouthful of water. Just as your vision began to fade, you felt yourself being lifted.

Your head broke out of the water and you gasped, still holding onto Sam.

You could see Dean in the distance and you understood he had salted and burnt the bones.

You looked at Sam, resting your forehead against his.

‘You were going to die, Sam,’ you said breathless.

‘I’d only just got you, I wasn’t going to let you go anywhere alone,’ he said. You pressed your lips to his and lost yourself in his kiss.
