Haji was one of the Ranch's most talked about stallions, and such so for his striking markings. Acquired via horse trade, he was elegance personified. He was used often in local parades as an ambassador for his breed, and he traveled to Britain for one such event. He had an extremely docile and steadfast temperament, and was allowed to work with the advanced Saddle Club kids, who showed him extensively in the Dressage sport. He was known for his wonderful concentration and work ethic. He passed away from heart failure while out in new spring pasture. He was 22.

Welcome DGR Chevalier Haji to the scene, a gorgeous lad hailing from SmexyHajiSan 's Chevalier breed. I fell in love with their unique markings a while ago whilst searching for Phantom of the Opera horses, and when she showed interest in my own Timekins , I just had to ask a trade. ^^

So, I went a bit crazy and based this handsome devil off a cello-playing body-guard character from the 2005 anime, Blood + (even though it looks like I based the name off the breed creator...). 'Twas some good times watching that show with my siblings way back when. ^^

Anywho, I took Haji's double collar look and applied it here in white. His coat is also long, so I pushed the end-coat line to the middle of the hindquarters instead of ending at the flank. And I didn't attach buttons because the character has a zipper of some sort. Oh, and I added the curved-ish sleeves on the front feet. So, a modification of markings available in the Chevalier breedsheet, SmexyHajiSan shall have to approve this real quick. ^^

And I used Ehetere 's very cool shading tutorial! And mcbadshoes ' awesome watercolor brushes.

2012 Christmas ride from Tattered-Dreams

Story

"Blood Plus?"

"Yeah, as in Haji from Blood Plus."

"I suppose..."

"There is no supposing about it, he matches Haji to a tee. He's even a loner!" The tall black creature grazed several meters from his buddy, Viking . "Not to mention that forelock of his, see the way it stays to one side and curls? Good grief, he might as well be Haji in a horse's body."

"Cat, Haji doesn't exist."

"You know Buddhists, I think it was them, anyway, have that belief that the dead come back as some other creature."

"Cat, Haji does NOT exist!"

"Well, it's a thought. Look at him standing there! He couldn't look more forlorn like Haji than ever."

Bean walked back to the house with a roll of her eyes, "Why don't you see if he likes cello music while you're at it..." she said under her breath.

Cat breathed in sharply. "That's a great idea!" But Bean just waved and kept walking.

It wasn't long before Cat had the new black stallion in a dressage saddle. He was gentle as nothing she'd seen before, he seemed to be watching his toes so as not to step on Cat's. Once saddled and mounted, Cat switched on a gorgeous cello cover over the dressage arena sound system and asked for a trot.

The breeze was soft, and the stallion moved with good ease. But something was missing, and Cat just couldn't place her finger on it. He lacked energy and collection. Was he still feeling down from the trip?

The song hit a gorgeous spot over the speakers, specifically at 1:10 .

And the Chevalier danced.
