missfit1023 — weight loss journey thus far...

Description I've been overweight for a good majority of my life - since I was in the 4th or 5th grade, to about freshman year in high school.
At my lowest, I was 145 lbs my freshman year.
Then I got involved with a boyfriend, which led me to gain "comfort weight."
I stayed around 160 for a year, then after my 2nd relationship, I was around 180 lbs.
Then in 2009, I had a surgerical procedure that left me bed-ridden and barely able to walk for weeks (almost a whole Summer).
I didn't weight myself, but I knew I gained weight.
Then I moved to GA for school - and there is nothing to do here except go to school, so I gained weight just by sitting around.
Then I had to have emergency surgery for my appendix in 2010 - it had ruptured and infected.
My doctors told me to lose weight, but I couldn't help but resent them for it. After a few weeks of being bed-ridden and not eating, I was down to 200 (from 215) - but this was mostly from vomiting what ever I tried to eat.
When I got better, my metabolism was practically shut down from not having anything substantial in it for so long - I gained the 15 back along with another 15.

Fat forward to November 2011. My best friend, who we knew has diabetes, had to have his foot amputated due to getting ganggreen in it.
My mother started losing her eyesight due to her diabetes.
I got my wake-up call.

I started exercising and eating right - and lately I've been doing the Insanity work out.
This is my progress from the last 6 months, and here's to hoping for much more success in the following months.

Losing weight is so difficult, I struggle with it as well. But a beautiful person like you deserves to feel great and be healthy, and your progress and bravery is inspiring! Keep it up, you're looking great!

i'm currently doing the insanity work out - i'm only about halfway through the work out now, i have 4 more weeks to go!
then, my boyfriend and i will start the P90X work out afterwards. i'm currently eating roughly 1700 calories a day (give or take).

nice!! We cant do anything crazy yet, we are still working are way up to like turbo jam, then p90...doing a lot of The biggedt loser workouts.

YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!Keep up the good work! It is a long and hard process but it is totally worth it! Plus mermaiding helps (when it's warm enough and pool access)! I've noticed I had better results last summer when I flopped around and swam a lot compared to just doing yoga and pilates.

yea, this week i lost 2 more pounds and i think its because i swam for roughly 3 hours between two days, and i plan to do more along with my at-home exercises.

No problem! I noticed that is does help in loosing the pounds quickly but I started gaining those back as soon as fall rolled around last year and was unable to go swimming (like any other workouts when one stops doing them). Both the prototype and practice tails I made last year ended up way too loose on me by the end of the summer.

Sadly, I am stuck with my practice tail for the time being. No time to work on a newer one or to take the practice one in so it does not fall off of my butt when I am in water.
Plus the weather is still a little crazy (cooler days, T-storms) so I haven't been out to the pool much, except to be a mermaidcicle.

Have you tried Hebalife? Its a bit expensive (depending on who you by it from) but it works wonders along with what you're already doing.

Basically, you do a protein shake 2X a day (I only do it once) and take vitamins and other "natural" pills.
