What? There's absolutely nothing to hate there!
Love the shading in his face!

*laughs8 Thank you, dear. It's just the body. It looks so frumpy. but it's been a few years since I last used a base. If anything, I prefer stock now, but I thought "Hey, I'm feeling lazy, need to draw Barbata, and I have this base I saved, but never used. Okay."
His face got a bit confusing, because halfway in, I forgot what i was doing. Heh.

Ahh, I hate everything from his neck down. His butt looks kind of lumpy. But it did leave some ground work for me to follow the nex time I draw him.

It pleases me~ I need to figure out what he does when he's older. Maybe Chrys teaches him magic?

Well, knowing what you started with, dear friend; this looks a whole lot better and I really like Bata's face; he's reallly cute. The coloring and shading, is pretty neat as well, if maybe not your best work (it is a bit vague and "lumpy" in places) and I think the bit where his other shirt, is peeking at waist-level and below, isn't needed, it gives him a slightly disjointed look, I feel. I also dunno why, but his head-placement, still seems a bit lopsided or hunchbacked on his shoulders its prolly me, overthinking it...

Hey, the head placement's your fault. I pasted the one you did over it, resketched through the red lines, erased them, then luminescence'd the layer onto the original lineart when I erased it. The process wasn't as complicated as I made it sound. Like I said, I've done it dozens of times, the hardest part is re-sketching over the red or colored lines you use. The other stuff I cna turn transparent and stitch to my lineart. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.
Like I said, I HATE this body. Hate it. But I kept working on it for that head. And no, the shadows aren't my best, but I got confused where they'd be, and also, every time I'd go to add the dark purple grey (you should watch me color some time, I'll show you my technique outside of just me paiting color swatches over things. There's a reason I save the skin and hair for last.) it would blend far too heavily in with the lighter skin shade. I use about three shadows. my first is that dark peach color, the second is a dark purple-grey that I use to give more depth into the shadow like around his cheekbone, and the third is a brown red that I use to give the appearance of blood under the skin without it looking pink like the blush on his cheeks that I forgot frick. When the shadows are done to my liking, the longest of the skin process, I do the highlights. Those go from two to three shades. The first is an almost yellowish color that I use as the base to meet the shadowed skin to the highlighted skin. I blend it down then occasionally, I run a thin gray peach line on top of the yellow to solidify its bond to the shadows to help highlight it and bring it out. After that, I take an almost white peach color over the area that's going to get the highlight to lighten it with characters who have paler skin. I haven't made a special blend of skin tones for each character yet, just different colors for different colored individuals such as Monie's almost golden hue. When I finish with blending the highlights and the shadows together to uniform the skin, I go on a new layer and paint on the lips. I don't add a lot of detail such as lines unless it's a huge canvas as my pen makes them too huge. After that, I either make a new layer for fear of messing up somewhere and cna't fix it, or I do the blush on the lip layer. Majority of the time on those who wear it such as Monie, I will do the makeup layer as the lip layer.

Hey, I do redraw mostof them to try and give them definition back. But I meant the one that cut through his hair and part of his collar and jaw. I had to re-sketch that over the red. The head I didn't want to redraw. I was scared I'd screw it up.
I need to find the tones I want for the dolls. Mono is pale, no doubt. Crimson, too. Phobia's got a grayer tone. Chrys is pale, but she should be a bit darker than the boys, and Katrina. Well, the first time I colored her in this new style, she looked almost black... She should be a darker cream with just the hint of a tan, though it wouldn't be wrong for her to be pale either. She was trapped in a basement for months.

*paps* I am lazy, but not whne it comes to stuff like this. Only if I'm fed up am I lazy.
It does. Though I may draw devil Kat soon for the darker skin. Which devil Katrina may even have red hair rather than her sand blonde brown.

More often than you know, yeah. But there's always something to get from it.
No, devil Katrina is what happens to her at the very end of her adventure. Her adopted devil dad is a redhead. it's likely that they took some of Rubi's DNA for baby devil Kat. So she might get red hair. Or not.
Nope.
