I've fallen in love with this design, I must say.

Daww, thanks so much! >v< Funny coincidence- was actually working on a new graphite sketch of the character in this costume when I saw this message!

Ooooh. Very nice. I just adore all the detail, especially the gauntlets and the mantle. And you make him so deliciously macabre and menacing, which is how he's supposed to be but people keep missing the point. This redesign really fits his character, I think.

Daww, thank you so much, I am really glad you appreciate all the details! >v< Ah, and yeah, I feel like a lot of people in their fan art tend to portray him more as some kind of pretty boy and forget that at his core, he's a sadistic, sentient weapon. I mean, he's definitely delightfully stuck-up too, but he's terrifying and dandy alike; so I definitely try to keep both elements in mind when drawing him. Thanks for the comments! ^v^

Delightfully stuck up indeed, that's part of the reason I love him so much. I have a thing for characters that think too highly of themselves.

Haha, same here! Characters like that are always very entertaining- it can either make them even funnier, or in Ghirahim's case, all the more threatening as well.

Also more alluring. Lots more alluring.

Haha, true! Confidence- even over-confidence- can really boost a character's charm like that. It adds a certain sort of peculiar charisma.

Finally, I get to do this again. Beforehand, I need to mention that I have to experience with photoshop, so if I compliment on something that actually the program did... just accept it.
I probably already expressed how much I love that brown fur trimming, and it attracted my eye again. It's pleasant to see how it mingles with his bright hair and pulls out the contrast, and I'm always delighted how you work out new details: this time, it's the frame of the gem in his ear. The intensity of the color is wonderful, it draws the viewer's attention to the whole picture and not just the face. The only thing that distracted me a little was the diamond below, it takes a bit of that effect. The same goes for the white of Ghirahim's left eye, it gets into a bit of a conflict. Not much of a critique since this is only my personal opinion.
His hair is just great, the way you carved out even the bits of his hairline and the mixture of white, silver and grey, it just looks smooth and silky to the touch. And even though, a few strands are out of order, so the composition doesn't get too... well-behaved.
And then there is his face. His features are very precise, even the skin of his lips and the wings of the nose. The twines of black creeping up the skin add to an effect of darkness slowly taking over, and the expression of his visible eye is really deep - it's by no means easy to give so much facial expression. He looks so directly at the viewer that it's impressive, as if he's going to strike any second. Again, it's really great work!

Aww, thank you so much! I seemed to have developed the habit of always drawing a few strands of his hair going out of order with the rest of the flow, I don't quite know why. >v<'' Ooh, yes I added the gold tones to parts of the wolf fure because I thought it added good visual contrast while still following the color scheme of his original costume. I don't know exactly where he found a black-and-gold wolf, but I guess something like that could exist in a fantasy world like Hyrule. ^v^ Aw, I am so glad you noticed and enjoyed all the detail of this picture! ^v^ I go a little detail-crazy when drawing faces, as I often try to make them have some realistic elements. Thank you so much, you always leave such nice comments!

Eh hem... What I meant to say was.....

I couldn't even tell that it was digital at first, it was SO SMOOTH! IT LOOKS JUST LIKE YOUR TRADITIONAL ART WHICH IN MY OPINION IS A GREAT QUALITY TO HAVE!!

Not many people can re-create their work with pens and markers with a stylus. And that's why you're amazing. Seriously. Will you ever cease to impress? I think not.

Aw, thanks so much! Yeah, my mom and sis said the same thing, that my digital work looks still a lot like my usual traditional stuff. ^v^ Thank you so much, I am so glad to inspire you and always get very happy to know that I am doing good at my art still. ^v^

You must teach me your secrets! When I tried digital...It failed miserably. I just can't get the right feel of the tablet in comparison to pens and markers... So yes, whenever I visit you, you must show me the way of the magic tablet!!

Oh, I totally will! There definitely are some tricks to digital painting, but once you adjust to the difference between that and traditional art it is great. I will totally show you it if you come to visit again! ^v^

Thanks! I have done some digital work before, but I used some more efficient techniques this time and have been really practicing to get better at digital art so I can be goog at both digital and traditional. I like tradtional art far better, but digital art is still a good skill to know.

Wow! Great job. Is this 100% digital? I love how the hair and skin turned out. Especially the hair! It looks to fuzzy! That's always a strongpoint for you in your traditional work too it seems. If I were to nitpick I think maybe the underlying structure of his earing could be adjusted and maybe some more time could be spent on the diamond shapes so they look less sketchy? That could be a matter of preference though.

Great work! I still have yet to do anything like this with my tablet.

MissPeridot In reply to username125 [2012-12-09 04:42:20 +0000 UTC]

Yep, it was 100% digitally drawn. I did not even use lineart at all but just went ahead and painted instead. Yeah, I think I will definitely put more work into the earring, as it definitely needs more detailing. And, yeah, the diamonds in the bacground definitely could use some more smoothing out, I agree.

Thank you so much! ^v^ I hope to get better at doing digital work some just so that I can be versatile in both tradional and digial art.

username125 In reply to MissPeridot [2012-12-09 05:44:14 +0000 UTC]

Right on! You probably know this but remember to save a photoshop document of your works if you intend to go back and work on them more. Apparently the more you save a JPEG file the more the quality declines. I guess I don't see why you'd do that anyway because you'd lose your layer information but this is something I learned last semester.

Keep up the great work!

MissPeridot In reply to username125 [2012-12-14 18:32:31 +0000 UTC]

Ah, don't worry, I know that. ^v^ I always save it so that I both have the original photoshop file and a separate, JPEG version so that I can go back and work on the original file in full quality when I want to. I did this back when I did some pieces in Paint Tool Sai as well! ^v^
