Kiriban for ~Johnsonist of their OC Helene Khryseis.i wasnt sure which outfit to do so i picked the one from the most recent pic. (i hope its right, i think i may have made a few small mistakes)
theyre so detailed its really hard ! >o<
anyway thanks for being patient with me. this was the first proper painting ive done in one sitting in over a year so..im very happy...

I love it! It's stunning work, but I do have a few issues with it.
You seem to be lacking contrast in most of the piece. The only real impact I'm seeing is where the hair meets the clothing. Perhaps you could darken up some other shadows, maybe the background as well. The neck and collar bone area as well as the right arm (our left) would be great places to darken up the shadow. Perhaps under the hair as well. I think you have plenty of lights, just not enough darks.
Contrast aside, it doesn't seems balanced to well. I think the placement of the character works well, but the fact that little is done to balance it otherwise is off putting. I think you could easily fix it by making darker shadows in the upper right corner, similar to the way you did in the upper left, though it could stand to be even darker still. You could even darken the edge along the hair.
Another thing, though the eyes do look very good and they are interesting, I would go with a darker color for the pupils. If not making them black then a dark blue should suffice. If it's part of the character design or just a preference of yours then by all means keep it that way. The thing about the eyes is just a personal preference of mine.
Anyway, I think it's great work, but it could definitely take a few changes.

haha my first critique mainly pointing out errors. very daunting
youre right though. i have a lot of problems with contrast in my works. i actually uploaded a higher contrast one but ended up changing it back OTL
hopefully i can rework it at a later date when i look at it with relatively fresh eyes.

lol Yeah. I'm not always so good at the complimenting thing. It is wonderful work though. And I've got a bit of a problem with contrast too, but I usually have too much. :/

Love the way you did the hair for this. All the different folds and tones and shades are lovely. Lineless is such a challenge for me in most art programs.

it can be really difficult for me as well. generally i dont even plan to do it. this one was fully lined right up until the end and then i decided to just go around and color over all the lines.
