I have played Yoshi's story and that game is adorable like a kitten. I've loved Yoshi ever since I first laid my eyes on him.Besides, it's about time I show that I can do more than just dark stuff.
So here's a bunch of baby Yoshies.

Very true~! I too am a lover of kittens and all feline kind, for that matter. A lot of people say I am a very girly guy, as I have a weakness for cute things like kittens.
Despite trying to take care of kittens and make their lives wonderful, there is a lot of darkness in the world that they will likely end up having to adapt to.
I was like those kittens as well, for a time, but life and it's evils eventually took it's toll on me. Now I moreso resemble the bright-eyed shadow cats of the night, never trusting, always keeping to myself and struggling as I make my way through life.
(I apologize for not writing more simply. I really should be more considerate to those who are from different places.)

Indeed! Each artist has a story, a spark that makes them light up, artistically, and show what they have to show, to those who choose to see. ^_^ DA is a good place for that, I feel.
This is also a good place to find others who can relate and understand, others who have seen or experienced the things that trouble our lives.
I'm happy to meet others that I can talk to about such things. :3

It's kind of a good place for that. It's just not easy to find buyers because almost everyone wants to sell, that's my biggest issue.
Perhaps, I haven't really spoken freely about "stuff".

That's unfortunate, and true... I've been trying to draw for a living for quite some time, but it just wasn't working for me. After a few years of trying, and now on my second DA account, I have never gotten a commission. Because of that, I've had to make money by other means. I have two jobs, a day job, and a night job, just so I can keep going.
I rarely do, either. Truthfully, I just feel stupid when I complain or tell people about bad experiences in my life... I also feel stupid when I tell others about myself. Countless questions go through my mind... (Why would they care... Why are you wasting their time...) and many more.
I would rather keep to myself than upset or bother anyone else.

True. That being said, I'm a little self-conscious about my art, and a lot of it, never goes online.

Try something new and challenge yourself. Like, if you're used to drawing people then try out animals or buildings or something. You might discover a hidden talent.

That could work! I usually end up failing miserably and giving up before I make anything good, or starting over, because I've messed something up beyond compare. I do enjoy doing relistic/semi-realistic digital portraits.

Yep. Also, you should set lower standards or else you will be frustrated because the goal is too high. I have some goals too but I aim in the middle. That way it feels so much better when you've reached the middle and can raise the bar even higher.

Aha ha, the Yoshis are cute, and your description is hilarious, but, seriously, when might you return to your usual "dark stuff"? (Although this is wonderful, and takes quite a versatile talent to make such tone shifts with more colors than just black.)

Thanks, well I'm returning to the shadows as we speak. I'm thinking: dragons or crocodiles. I haven't decided what to go for yet. But at the same time I have more fan art that's almost finished.... We'll see what gets done first.

seriously, I fell in love with those dinosaurs (or dragons acording to the Super Mario World Manual), when I saw them the first time. In fact, Yoshi is my favorite Character in the Mario Universe.
