It took me a long time to like this photo, despite the great compositional elements. I think it's ego, really - I don't have pretty, perky breasts, and I wish I did, dammit! However, I am coming to terms with my torpedo tits, and this picture is at least part of why. I particularly like how in this photo, the makeup makes my face look like one of those very old tin photos from the turn of the century. Know the ones I mean? Don't worry, I really think we want or envy in others what we don't have.
My favorite story to illustrate this is myself, my model, & her sister were sitting at coffee drink having a post-shoot lunch where they were reviewing the photos on the back of the camera. The model at one point bemoans, "My stomach is so flabby." Now keep in mind, A. she was easily Playboy material & B. the stomach in question was so flat you could fry & egg off of it. I was simply going to shake my head & let it go til her sister, looked at her, hit her on the arm, & told her to "shut the fuck up." Followed by an "amen" by me.
