Hello! Sometimes, I buy strategy guides so that I can use them as reference for making cross stitch patterns, but yesterday, at a used record store, I found a beaten up copy of the book for Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time/Darkness. I expected it to, at the very least, have some nice drawings of all of the Pokemon, but in actuality, it had large and clearly printed images of the sprites for all of the first 493 Pokemon. I'm not sure how good the book is in terms of helping with the game, since I haven't played it, but for crafting, it should be excellent. I plan to see how many of the Pokemon from it I can stitch before getting sick to death of the whole project, and this Skitty is the first of what I hope to be many. I picked it because it was cute, cuddly, and had a color scheme that matched the fabric scrap I had out, so my motivations were not exactly deep. Still, I am pretty pleased with the finished result!Skitty was stitched on 14-count bright blue Aida cloth with multiple brands of embroidery floss, including some that sent me.

Yeah, it was! The book was marked seven dollars, but I was talking to my family about how it might have been a bit much, so the clerk yelled across the store, "I'll sell it to you for four!" so it was a remarkable stroke of luck.

Nice! I got Pokemon Stadium with a 20% off when I got my N64 'cuz it was an oldie already (it was around 3 years ago)

Also, of course it was less cool because of the Pokemon I chose. XD I'm not sure why I picked Kakuna, but I made two today, both of which were more fun, and even got to stitch a bit of fire, which I'd never done before. Charizard or Feraligatr would be fun, though! It would be interesting to stitch a bigger, more intimidating Pokemon.

Oh, thank you! I really have no idea what I'll make before I pick up the fabric and flip through, but knowing that there's Pokemon someone actually wants to see is cool, so I'll be sure to at least make one of them sooner rather than later. (I think the only one I can guarantee not showing up is Onix- it doesn't look any fun to make and the sprite is massive.) Right now, I'm working on a Kakuna, because I had some black fabric and thought the yellow threads would look really impressive against it, so I don't think anyone'll be excited to see that.
