Description Here are some quick shots of the tree i finished last week, please excuse the horrible noise and blurriness, i took these while getting ready for work and did not have a tripod handy!

(on a side note, there is next to nowhere in my backyard to take photos right now.. it's all muddy and wet and yucky! but that means spring is coming right??)

someday soon i should have some better, in focus shots of this (although it will probably be taken in my mini-studio like my jewelry shots, so it will not be outside in nature like these ones...)

enjoy!

I really like how you did the base on this! I'm new to trees, and the trunk and roots is my weak area. This eliminates the need for a complex root system

Thank you! I would definitely make the base wider next time though, while it's not wobbly per se, it's definitely not super sturdy. It was a lot of work, but a lot of fun too!

thank you! i plan on doing more of these in the future, just haven't had time to put into it lately. and it's not as intricate as you think, it just takes practice

wow!! my grandma had a bonsai tree made out of amethyst crystals quite similar to this so this sculpture has a nostalgic feel for me

really beautiful and amazing

wow, that must have taken a BUTTload of wire. It looks awesome, and I'm super impressed at how you balanced it on the base so well - topheavy things like that are normally so tippy, but it is clearly quite stable.

haha, yeah, it did take a buttload of wire. well, not THAT much I guess, but there's 52 branches that started out as 12 inches long each, so you do the math too bad i don't have enough silver to do another right now... and i won't be ordering wire for a while yet.

Ooh, so pretty!
The pendants already looked amazing, seing this more 3D version really gives the impression of a real tree. The copper+silver combination really looks great for enhancing both the wirework and rendering the tree bark.
If you can get enough wire are you planning to do a tree for each season? *_*

thank you dear!
i can't get enough of the silver/copper combo. i'm always a little sad when people don't want both!
i might do each season eventually... but my next one (whenever that is, i don't quite know yet) will probably be a bare tree, with no leaves. so i guess that would cover summer and winter? maybe i'll do spring and fall eventually to

I like metal wire tres being made with either all silver or silver+copper actually , depending on the piece. For a winter and/or fairyland tree I'd probably think of silver, for instance.
If and when you're doing the whole for seasons trees I think a tree with fruits(=round beads, as in your temptations tree a while ago) would be lovely as the summer one.

i would probably accept commissions for pieces like this, but not right away... i don't have enough silver wire left to make another! lol.

Yesss, I love it! Your tree is very compact and sturdy looking, and I love how small it is! I am a big fan of this my friend, you did an excellent job. (Sorry, I'm gushing, I know, I just love how it turned out. It was very different than what I expected, but then again we do have very different styles.)
It looks very dense at the top, is it hard to keep it upright? I know my tree was pretty top-heavy and it was nowhere near as nicely balanced as yours is.
anyway, well done as usual

it IS very top heavy, but the base kind of counteracts the 'tippiness' of it... i made sure to balance it fairly evenly while I was working. i'd probably make the base larger next time.

and it IS pretty sturdy! I've dropped it several times to no issue.. lol. i'm a klutz, what can I say??

I really want to try this now... I like the idea of a smaller one, mine are tall and they have taken a lot of wire... (ooh my poor fingertips >.< ) and I just love the way yours turned out...
